(NewsCore) - A Florida teen was arrested after allegedly stealing a judge's nameplate from a courtroom door then posting a picture of himself posing with it on Facebook, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Friday.
Convicted thief Steven Mulhall, 21, of Coral Springs, Fla., posted a picture of himself holding the nameplate of Broward Circuit Judge Michael Orlando, which had been stolen last month, on his girlfriend's Facebook page, cops said.
He was arrested Thursday and booked into jail in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., following a tip-off from a member of the public.
"The nameplate is like only $40, not that big of a crime, but what an idiot. He puts it on Facebook," Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti said.
"Here he is flaunting it on Facebook," he added. "He violated the terms of his parole by stealing, from a judge no less. He's got multiple convictions for petty theft, so now this is a felony."
The nameplate was returned to the judge, the sheriff said.
