Guns are the weapon of violence used and are pretty much available to anyone who wants one. Whether they are in this country illegally or not. Returning illegal aliens to their native country won't stop mass killings and violence. As long as pro-gun supporters and the NRA keep pushing the sale of more guns and glorifying their ownership to an impressionable youth nothing will change.
Guns don't kill people. People kill people with guns. Criminals do not abide by gun laws. Law abiding citizens abide by gun laws. There is already a gun in the U.S. for every single person. If you stopped selling guns now forever, people would still get killed with guns.
The NRA is not responsible for the movies made by Hollywood glorifying and showing the use of firearms. The NRA is not responsible for the countless video games glorifying and showing the use of firearms. Gun violence is also glorified and influenced in the songs and videos produced by Rap "artists".
The "impressionable youth" are taught to kill in history class when they read about U.S. involvement in wars and when they read about the treatment of Native American Indians during "Manifest Destiny" in the 19th century.
Americans killed each other in the Civil War, we've travelled to and invaded foriegn lands for the soul purpose of killing people, we've robbed and killed each other in the streets of every city in the United States.
Before the invention of firearms people killed one another with knives, swords, rocks, hammers, spears, bow & arrows, etc. It is human nature to kill, it always has been. The gun is just the implement, the human is the killer.
Advocate and rally all you want to. People will kill each other no matter what laws are on the books.
When someone plans and executes a killing such as those at Sandy Hook, Columbine, etc., do you think they ever thought, "Wow, I better not do this. It's against the law."?

Making something illegal doesn't stop it from happening - obviously.
I honestly believe that it's people that need to change the way they think, instead of the laws, as they're are certain things in a civilized society that have to be unacceptable and what happened last Friday morning is one of those things.

As has been said elsewhere...if somebody wants to kill, they will do it. If they have to steal a gun, they will. If they have to choke a person, they will. If they have to crack a skull open with a baseball bat, they will. You could kill a person with a ballpoint pen if you wanted to. It's not the weapon, it's the people.

Magnethead, I'm not even part of the gun control movement, but when I see someone use these excuses to defend their guns then I get the feeling their grasping for straws. You are right, if someone wants to kill you then they are going to use what ever they can get their hands on. But if someone was going to try and do you bodily harm then which weapon would you prefer they use " gun, bat, or ball point pen"? I think your odds of survival would be much greater with the bat or pallpoint pen. Actually it's the combination of a deranged person and a weapon that is most deadly.

Guns can be bought by illegal immigrants through a variety of methods. It could have been stolen or, it could have been a gift and, last but not least, it could have been on loan.
