From Jayski:

Stewart/Yocum to help Shephard at Richmond: Morgan Shepherd’s Faith Motorsports Dodge will hopefully be making a lot more trips around the Richmond International Raceway this weekend, thanks to the generosity of two of the veteran driver's modern-day heroes. Two-time Sprint Cup Champion #20-Tony Stewart and broadcaster Matt Yocum will provide tire sponsorship to the #89 team this weekend in an effort to help Shepherd build on last week's 13th place run at Talladega. Shepherd was a surprise call-in guest to the Tony Stewart Live radio show on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio on Monday evening, and before the conversation between Shepherd and the two hosts was over the duo had come aboard as tire sponsors for Friday night's Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond. “You say you need some tires for this weekend,” Yocum said during the interview. “How about if Smoke and I each buy you a set of tires.” Stewart and Yocum said they would each set Shepherd up with a set of tires for this weekend’s 250-lap event at the .75-mile track at the Virginia State Fairgrounds. Stewart followed up by saying he would provide as many tires as Shepherd might need this weekend. Stewart went on to talk about how many modern-day fans of NASCAR don’t appreciate the personal dedication that Shepherd and many other racers from his era put into the sport. “I know how much you put into it personally and I can appreciate it,” Stewart said. “We’ll make sure you have plenty of tires for this weekend.”(PR)(4-30-2008)

Three cheers for Matt and Smoke ! !:beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang:

I didn't even realize he'd finished 13 at dega. For such an underfunded team running out of Morgan's pocket, that's purty darn good! Maybe with this extra sponsorship, he might be able to do that more often.

Awwwwwwwww... what a cute little boy Smoke was! Smoke didn't always have it easy coming up and it's so nice to see how he always likes to help someone on the track or off. He hasn't forgotten what it's like to need a helping hand. It's why I always have a soft spot for him in my heart no matter what he says or does sometimes which tick people off. Go figure.. I'm a Gordon AND a Stewart fan. :)

Good for you Smoke and Matt!!! :beerbang::beerbang:

Maybe I'll go back to wearing my Smoke hoodie LOL

Anyone can do well at Dega, if you stay out of the wecks. Draft means everything. He has 8 races this year 38 in points. only 21 drivers have have raced 8 or more races this year.

Great to read. Morgan had a good run going early on and I didn't realize that's where he finished. He's great man and I hope he has a good run on Friday, and will continue to get out his message.

Morgan Finished 28th, 4 laps down tonight. NOT BAD!

NOL said last time Morgan finished s race, fuel was a buck eighty-three.
