Local track has VP racing fuel on site, light blue, leaded, 107 octane. They are going to add a track surcharge raising the price to $9.00 a freakin gallon!!!!
You can buy fuel outside of the track but in the words of the head tech "expert" :sarcasm: it might not pass the specific gravity tests so,,,,,,,,,

It's getting so you have to be a brazillionaire to run a hobby stock.

FWIW you can buy CAM-2 fuel 105 octane down the street for $5.90

yea, it's like that everywhere....... At the local dirt tracks here, they sell Turbo Blue at the track, and it's lke 9 or 10 a gallon. It's really tough on the lil guys, espicially the 4 cylinder classes that are racing for like 200 bucks to win. By the time they buy pit passes, gas, and maybe a somethin to eat, they have to win to at best break even.
The really bad thing is for the Crate racers...... GM recommends using pump gas ( like 2.00 per galllon) for the crate motors..... the racing fuel is a bit rougher on the engines, yet tracks continue to require they buy their fuel...... even had an instance where at one track a driver won on pump fuel, but was thrown out because it failed inspection......had to be Turbo Blue.
