For those of you who loved Operation Paperback, thank you for the kind words to me for running it in the newsletter, I hope you will appreciate AdoptaPlatoon just as much.

From their Mission Statement:

"The AdoptaPlatoon Soldier Support Effort founded in 1998 is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization managed nationwide by volunteer mothers to ensure that deployed United States Service members in all branches of the military are not forgotten by providing needed mail support and to promote patriotism in our schools and communities."

If you want to help and to participate in AdoptaPlatoon check out the "How to Help a Soldier" section which goes through all you need to do to be given permission from the organization and what exactly needs doing to help out.

For those of you who can't help out for financial reasons and such, you can check out the gallery that they have on the site with pictures of our troops. Some of the pictures are very touching. You can also check out the newsletter they have on the site. The newsletter is full of heart-lifting news and information.

March on over!

I'd be glad to.

I already participated in several functions of the 375th Chemical Company such as their coming-home from mobilization ceremonies, parties and stuff like that. When you get to show up and do things there, it's a pretty neat experience, I'll probably end up being one of the soldiers there next year because I am planning to enlist when I turn 17. :)

:salute: I always help any veteran groups I can. Morale is the lifeblood of the combat soldier. These are good causes regardless of one's political leanings. :salute:

I had a guy tell me a neat story the other day. He said he was behind a young man in line at the gas station. He heard the man talking to a friend. This young man was being deployed to Iraq the next day. The guy telling the story stepped up to the counter and said "I am paying this young man's bill today. It is the least I can do" :salute:
