WOW !!!!
You people are really anal when it comes to analyzing NASCAR and their secret list of who gets preferential treatment and who gets to suck hind tit. (see thread on speedometers) as perfect example.

So many times we do not know where or what the debris was on the track but if it screws your favorite driver, NASCAR had a hand in it and was trying to assist someone.

I doubt seriously eighty percent of NASCAR watchers ever knew what it was like in the days when NASCAR actually did play favorites.
They cannot do it today !!!
There are too many eye in the sky cameras and too many eager reporters hiding in stalls of rest rooms trying to over hear conversations.

In an interview between Earnhardt, JGordon and Dave DeSpain, all three agree there is legitimate reason when NASCAR throws the yellow.
WHOA !!!! There is suspect right there. Earnhardt and JGordon, the two most popular drivers in NASCAR.

Damn !! I can hear it now !!!!!!!! JGordon and Earnhardt get the benefit more than anyone else !!! CONSPIRACY !!!!!!

For those of us sitting in our easy chair at home, we rarely get to see the debris as networks usually go into a commercial and unless the debris is of consequence, there is no reason to tell viewers specifically what the debris was.

Do you really think the announcers would let go unoticed if NASCAR waved the caution and there were no debris on the track ???? Maybe two or three years ago but not anymore.

So now I have finished my rant, another one in the long list of favorite rants by Da WHIZZER, ya'll go back to watching a sport where the sanctioning body promotes favorites, overlooks egregious behavior by those you either (please check one)

So thats where Bob Dilner gets his scoops .

And I'm not NAIVE enough to think that Nascar doesn't know who's buttering their bread.

Nascar was pretty quick to change the points system and yet drag their feet on safety issues all the time.

WHY isn't that roof escape hatch made mandatory?

Aren't there yet tracks without safer walls?

Nascar has had their noses up it ever since I've been watching the races and will most likely continue along that line based on t-shirt and hat sales.

You seem to be naive about a few things

Quick to change the points system , I dont think so since it was a quarter century since they last changed the points .

Why are roof hatches not mandatory , because after much testing they relized the limited benifits of the system and in looking at crashes over the last twenty years they saw no time the hatch would have saved a driver from harm or reduced injury . They also have addressed the problem with a larger greenhouse and other safety features on the COT.

All oval tracks in NASCAR have the safer barrier

I am not sure what sales of NASCAR hats and T shirts has to do with anything since this is mainly a revenue stream for teams and drivers and I would doubt that these sales would account for 1 or 2 % of total revenues to NASCAR.

Other then being way off base on those 4 points it would seem you really have your finger on the pulse of NASCAR.

Ahh...sarcasm...the lowest form of wit.

The point system changed for two reasons and if you don't know who those two reasons are, I feel no need to enlighten you.

So what if the roof hatch wouldn't have changed anything in the past. It could still help someone in the future - could it not?

There are still some pretty hard walls that have no safer barrier.

Do you really think that Nascar doesn't know who is selling the most t-shirts and hats?

And finally, at least my finger is on some kind of pulse...instead of someplace else.

And I have yet to understand why people who are so sure that NASCAR is biased, prejudiced, and changeable based on who they want to win, keeps on watching.

If you have such a jaundiced view of NASCAR, then don't watch! Why should what the powers-that-be do concern you?

For better or worse, depending upon your view, NASCAR is what it is. We can either watch or not. If more people quit watching and going, it will probably change --- maybe for better, or worse.

The drivers, and fans, have to play by the rules set down by NASCAR. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Chase. But, it is what it is. We can bitch and moan and groan, but until the ratings hit the toilet along with attendance, NASCAR rules the roost.

I root for my drivers --- in the Chase, or not, makes no difference. I will continue to watch, and attend, simply to show support for my drivers.

Don't we all have to be prepared for conflicting opinions in open forums?

If a person wishes to express their views and it's within the rules, what's the problem?

I think I'm a pretty loyal NASCAR fan. Been to many races. Watch it on TV whenever I can. Listen to the radio when traveling.

But having said all that, I think NASCAR is giving some an unfair advantage. Like Derrike Cope. He never gets caught speeding. :D

Its probally because NASCAR is getting a piece of that lucretive Derrike Cope hat and T-shirt market . lol

Patrick, I don't have a problem with anyone expressing their opinion. That's not what I'm trying to say.

I'm just saying that moaning and groaning and complaining in a forum is not going to change NASCAR one little bit.

what this thread needs is a caution for debris!

I understand that.:)

The original post was "moaning and groaning and complaining" about people "moaning and groaning and complaining" as you put it.

I simply responded to defend myself as I happen to be one of those people who the OP is referring to. And to be honest, I thought I done it in a manner which was not offensive, rude or personal. I'd like to think that this board hasn't been taken over by immature people who post foolishness to simply destroy otherwise genuine and non-offensive threads.

And no TRL, I'm not referring to you but there are a couple of people here that belittle others posts at almost every oppurtunity. When they can no longer make a valid point, they leave some disparaging remark instead of moving on.

What's frustrating is the mob mentality some people assume when one of these childish posters start in on somebody.

Now, like Nascar, complaining about these people will do no good - I know that. But they're not going to stop me from stating my thoughts and opinions.

I have a feeling my points will be proven before the days out ;)

You mean like the people that used to be on 4m. :D

I rarely do for the NASCAR reading, nor do I go to the hangout for the legion of miserable that used to be on 4m.

It's the biggest message board for dirt late model racing. They also have sections for sprints, modifieds, and others. They used to have a NASCAR section, but it became nothing but trading insults and dominated several posters that only complained about NASCAR and said races were fixed for one particular driver they all disliked. They brought back that section and called it "the other board". The complainers are gone, but others have taken it over and make it not worth reading.
