We own a fowling piece (rifle) that is estimated to be about two hundred plus years old. This was a rifle that has been handed down through five or six generations. We have never fired this gun but it is a flintlock type rifle with a ram rod.
We have decided to sell it but wondered if anyone has any knowledge of this type of rifle as to value, demand, or anything else that might be of importance.

Would prefer to begin sale with some basic information. Any help will be appreciated.

Whizzer, is there any identifying marks on it? Manufacturer, serial number, etc.?

And do you have any pictures?

I bet theirs an antique gun collector somewhere..maybe a museum or something

Looked the rifle over carefully and could find no identification. Guess the best thing is to take it to an antique gun dealer to get the scoop but so far, it looks as if it is in the under $200 range.

HEY! That's a start and much more than I had before. Thanks for the insight. :)
