I absolutely love the Texas Rangers. It started because I've been a Josh Hamilton fan since I first heard his story. The guy is just awesome, and he is a great player. I have been, and will always be, a Cleveland Indians fan first and foremost. However, until they spend some money and make a few good decisions to dramatically improve the team, they will be pretenders at best.

The Rangers are just really fun to watch. They are the best offensive team I've seen since the '95 Indians (with Albert Belle, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Kenny Lofton, and the like). On top of that, their pitchers have the best ERA in the league. They have a lot of fun playing, but seem to really respect the game and their opponents.

The Rangers are a shoe-in for the World Series. It's just a matter of if they play St. Louis again, Philadelphia or Washington.

I am and live about 15 mins away from the stadium.Tickets this year are kinda getting hard to get. They been selling out most every game since the year started.Probably have to wait till the 100 degrees day games to be able to go to one this year.I really hope Hamilton can stay on the wagon. It's tough to do but I think he can.I'm glad Ryan bought the team instead of Cuban.I don't think they would be having this kind of success with Cuban as the owner.

I doubt he would have, but it's hard to say if Cuban would have had the same success or not. He certainly doesn't know baseball like Nolan Ryan does. Having Nolan Ryan be the owner and having him sit there next to the batter's box every night seems to give the team even more leadership. Mark Cuban's money seems to be endless and so does his willingness to spend it on his pro team. Cuban may have bought Albert Pujols or Prince Fielder or someone like that this off season. Pujols is having a really bad season so far, but his history says he will still be a beast before long. It may not have worked, but you just never know. I also think Cuban would have the sense to hire good baseball people.

Knowing the sport I think is better than any amout of money you can throw at it.

That's true, but you can't argue with the success the Yankees have had with buying championships over the years. The Yankees have made a lot of really bad baseball moves over the years, but they just make up for it by buying yet another player that another team can't afford to keep.

Without the money the team will be an also-ran. Players go where the money is. I can't blame them, but I don't like it as baseball has been ruined for most teams. If the Pirates can only afford to pay a player $1 million and LA offers the player $2 million the player will go for the $2 million.
