Any tips on planning a "tea party"?

I just got my latest bill for my Property Taxes. It just went up again. And a lot this time. Just two years ago I paid $730/half. Last year it went up to $870/half. My new bill is for $1090 for half a year!!:mad: That is enough to pi$$ off the pope right there.
 
Sounds like Virginia...property tax, car tax, county tax.

I'll never own anything in this state.
 
I heard a stat several years ago that something like 66% of our gross income ends up paying taxes. Between all the taxes that come out before we even get our paycheck to property taxes to sales taxes to gasoline taxes to highway taxes. We end up with like a third of what we earn.:(
 
The average citizen in this country pays a higher percentage of his income in taxes now than was paid at the time of the American Revolution.

Scary, huh?

There's a sloution, but it'll never happen.
 
Last year the school district I live in past a levy which they will collect the money through property taxes, that alone caused my taxes to go up over $250/half. I don't have a problem with the schools needing money, what I have a problem with is the fact that my daughter will get the same education from this school that the family down the road will get but it cost me 4 times as much as them because I live in a more expensive house. That burns me. There has to be a better way to fund our schools.
 
Ohio is getting ready to put more taxes on us if our Governer has his way.I think they should put a little more focus on government waste first.;)
 
Totally agree! Taft wants to raise the tax on gas, like prices aren't high enough! Where is all the money going from the Mega Million Lottery? I thought that was supposed to help Ohio.

Our new governor says he is going to raise the so called "sin" taxes (tobacco and alcohol), gasoline tax and eliminate the "Homestead" rule which helps those who own keep their property tax lower if the do not have kids in school.
Taxes everywhere just seem to be outrageous.
The Federal Government also needs to stop paying $600 for an arm rest on Gvt. airplanes and $1,000 for toilet seats.
Waste not, Want not.

War Paint and feathers always work.
We still have Homestead Exemption, and low taxes on Lic. plates. We just pay higher sales tax. Sales tax is the fairest tax to have. Everyone pays the same.
