No word since last night?

RICHMOND, Va. -- Bobby Hamilton was hospitalized Thursday for injuries suffered in a multi-car accident on the last lap of the Virginia is for Lovers 200 at Richmond International Raceway.

The accident occurred in Turn 1 and continued through the exit of Turn 2. Hamilton was struck several times and was complaining of pain in his right shoulder, left collarbone and left wrist at the infield care center.

Hamilton was taken to nearby Memorial Regional Medical Center for precautionary measures and X-rays. No other drivers were injured in the accident.

Unconfirmed rumor has it that Bobby will not be able to drive this weekend due to a broken wrist.

The rumor further has it that Greg Biffle will pilot the car.

Strictly "grapevine" stuff, but that's all I can find so far.

Let's upgrade it from grapevine, and it's a little more exensive than I first heard accoridng to David Poole.

Bobby Hamilton hurt, expected
to miss some Winston Cup races

RICHMOND, Va. - Bobby Hamilton will miss the next three Winston Cup races after suffering a broken right shoulder blade and left wrist in a wreck on the final lap of Thursday night's Virginia is for Lovers 200 Truck race at Richmond International Raceway.
Greg Biffle will drive the No. 55 Chevrolet owned by Andy Petree in Saturday night's Chevrolet 400. That will break a streak of 266 consecutive Winston Cup races in which Hamilton has started.

No interim driver for races after this weekend has been determined.

Hamilton was driving a No. 4 Dodge truck he owns in Thursday night's race. As he went into Turn 1 on the final lap, running in the top five, he made contact with another truck and crashed hard into the outside wall. He rebounded across the track and was hit several times by other trucks racing on the final lap of the race won by Tony Stewart.

"I'm not really sure what happened," said Hamilton, whose right arm will be immobilized by the shoulder injury. "I realized I was spinning toward the wall and going to hit on the driver's side, so I turned the wheel the opposite way. I hit the wall and it pushed me back down the race track, where I got hit several times."

I hate to hear that. I hope Bobby makes a full recovery and he's back racing in full health before too long.

Maybe we will get to see Biffle, and Harvick put on a show,Man oughta be good for sure when you add all the other clashes that could possibly errupt.I do hope Bobby is allright though. :)

Guess I need to make a widdle change in my Yahoo fantasy team...

Hope BH heals up nicely and soon.

Ya, I saw that wreck and I thought it was really bad. It kinda looked like he stuck his nose down there when Starr came down. I think that Hamilton decided to spin or move Starr instead of spinning himself out. I say that because after they made contact Hamilton turned right very sharply.

That's too bad for Bobby. I wish him a speedy recovery.

But why is Biffle subbing for him? Does Andy Petree not have any of his own Busch drivers to call up? Just a bit confused...

No Busch team I know of.

Andy gets good guys to drive for him him though, TS was in his truck last night and his ARCA car earlier this week.

If Roush is cool with it, Biffle is a good choice.

Oh, Biffle is definitely a good choice. I just wasn't sure why Jack would allow him to drive for someone else.

Thanks again, HS. :)

Kinda wondered hoe the cat in the hat felt about it at first, but then figured that since they are bringing him next year anyway it is good opportunity to get him some seat time.

And the 55 is not a terrible car, not great, but not bad either.

You are right on the money Scrabble,Free seat time for sure.Greg will find out how a Chevy acts in conjunction to the Taurus.Might bring home some valuable notes to Daddy Jack.;)

Maybe Jack just figures he doesn't have to supply him cars until 03. If somebody else wants to give him seat time for now then why not. Saves Roush more money. It could be used to experiment with Kurt's engines...

Lets just say no harm done,Let him run.Just don't get hurt,You got a Busch Championship to win Mr Biffle.:)
