I'm trying to figure out where I want to see a race at this year. My buddy I usually go to Martinsville with has decided he wants to go to Talledega this year. I ain't goin' nowhere to watch a plate "race". Much less like 800 miles or so. Chicago is not that far to drive and it's a pretty new track. Any of you ever been there?

I went to the Busch race. Great facility. You can see the whole track. You should go there.

I am from Ohio too 4xchamp and am considering going to Chicago this year cause it is so close.

Thanks for the info. I tried to go to their web sight for ticket information, but it says there are no events scheduled. I guess I will have to get the phone number off of the web sight and call them for ticket info.

You can't buy a ticket to the Winston Cup race. YOu have to buy a "season pass". The pass includes the IROC, Busch, Tropicana 400, and a couple IRL events. Not too bad of a deal if you enjoy open wheel too, but they start at $195/seat for the worst seats in the house. That's a big chunk of change when you take a wife or kid with you. I might have to pass. Maybe Richmond?

Well that's too bad considering it's so close. But you are right the price isn't bad if you wanted to go to all.

I forgot about that...I got the Busch tix for free because someone I know works for Wolf Tobacco. Richmond is a better race anyway.

Richmond rocks! but good luck getting tix unless you scalp. I've been on the waiting list for years and just got in this year because they're opening a new grand stand.

But if you're willing to take a gamble and just show up on race day, you should be able to scrounge up some tickets at reasonable prices. It's worth it!

4x, you can wait until closer to the race date to "possibly" get single tickets for the WC race. That is the way that they do it at Texas. They try to pursuade you to purchase season tickets. :D

According to some woman at the race track when I called. Quite a few tickets will go on sale March 1st by phone only. They say it usually takes about a day and 1/2 to sell out.

4xchamp, if you do call for tickets, make sure it's first thing in the morning, and be prepared to stay on hold for up to an hour.

Hope you get to go, it's a great time! :)

Thanks! I hope I get to go too. But, I may have to use the money for a payment on my new truck.
