Anybody but....

Do you all have an "Anybody but...driver" Ya know what I mean, You are okay with pretty much anyone winnning as long as it's not a particular driver? Does that make sense? I mean, I of course pull for Smoke and have other favorites, but for every race I am okay with whoever wins as long as it's not.... both Gordons, Martin, Rusty, and Craven, those are my "anybody but" drivers. Anybody else have drivers that really don't like to see win?
 
I used to be that way with Tony Stewart, but he has earned my respect over the last few years.

I really don't like to see Robby Gordon win. But as was the case yesterday, I have no problem with a guy winning when he deserves to win. He dominated the race and with the exception of Ron Fellows we was the class of the field yesterday.

Now I just really don't like to see anyone win who is in front of Jeff in the standings. Except now, Matt is the only one in front of Jeff in the standings and I really like Matt a whole lot too. So, bring 'em all on. :D
 
For me...I dont care If they sometimes do well, but I dont want them to win...

Robby Gordon (Except for yesterday, he deserved it!)
Mark Martin (Only because a friend likes him and talks about him all the time, and when he does well he smart talks.)
Todd Bodine (He is a Bodine!)
Brett Bodine (He is a Bodine!)
Geoff Bodine (He is a Bodine!)
 
I uesd to have alot of them until Dale Earnhardt died, it really doesn't matter to me now as long as the racing is good and everybody goes home in one peice.
 
Anybody but Gordon (Being a Rusty fan,go figure)
Anybody but Rousch, (can't stand the cat in the hat, and after Burton punting Rusty yesterday, it's all the worse)
And just for DeeDee....anybody but Smoke :p
 
No one at all the tracks but, I hate to see dale jr win at a restrictor plate track especially talladega.
 
I think I will have to go along with TRL, with one exception.

I think it's been like 230 racesw since he won :wub: I don't know, I've lost track. Been real busy lately and haven't had time to get online too often. I'll drop you a line here when I get a chance. Talk to you later!!

BTW, I don't really have it in for Tony, there are plenty of other drivers I can root against!! :D

I thought that might rile you up, 97! I really have nothing against Kurt, but I just don't like the kid I can't really explain it. (And it has NOTHING to do with him winning any races.) There is something about him that just rubs me the wrong way.

So, how ya been, 97?
 
lol...I know.I had to add the 'Johnson twins' comment for effect! :p

And personality-wise Kurt isn't excactly the kind of guy I would hang out with after work either!I just like his never say die attitude as a driver.

Kurt Busch
Jimmie Johnson
and sometimes Junior.
 
It changes for me quite often....but the past season it's been anybody but Dale Jr.
 
Anybody but: Jeff Gordon & Kurt Busch. Would rather see a Bodine win than those two. :D

Interesting the reasons for disliking one driver over another. Especially in light of the fact most have never met and communicated with thier favorite driver more than one minute at best and in most cases not even that long.

In interviews with different drivers, Jeff Gordon is one of the most popular among his peers, yet when introduced, he is the most loudly jeered. According to Dick Berggren, Gordon is reportedly the most down to earth driver. "If people took the time to get to know Jeff, they would like him. No pretentions, just a regular guy". That coming from a guy who has dealt with virtually anybody who has anything to do with racing.

Of course Gordon's little rant this past weekend will set him back a few light years in popularity, but life goes on. :D

Your right. We make our judgements by what we see on the track and post race interveiws. But that is all that most have to go by. But we are just human. :D
