Anybody else laugh a little at Rusty?

When Rusty bounced off the wall yesterday I had to laugh a little. I bet he was HOT. Would've loved to hear him on the radio after that one. Man, somebody should record his radio channel during the race, I'd pay good money to listen to it.

As colorful as he might have been at the time, and "colorful" is often Rusty's case in these deals mostly dark blue, after the race he took full responsibility:

"I just let it get right up there against the wall, and that was pretty much it. I think we could have easily had a top five. The car was strong enough to finish up there I believe, but I just got up there in the marbles and that was it."

I wonder if he is pushing hard again for that victory. You could tell he was really pushing toward the end of last season.

Yeah, you can tell he wants that win. And with Bristol and Richmond coming up he's got a good shot at getting it. I was kinda upset he didn't get a win last year to keep his streak going. Actually, I wish Gordon wouldn't have hit him at Bristol (but I still think Jeff had the faster car).

Rusty's a stand-up guy. HS is right, he admitted his brush with the wall was his fault. Rusty takes responsibility when he messes up and that's cool.

But like I said, he just cracks me up on the radio. All day long during Martinsville he used to yell "tell that son-of-a-(gun) to get off my ass!" Which is funny because Martinsville is all about beatin' and bangin.' Poor Pemberton, he's probably half deaf. I wonder how long Wilburn will last?

I personally didn't want to see Rusty slap the wall but the team did a great job getting that car back so that they could get a decent finish (15th) considering.

Until Rusty decides to not micro manage his race team and learn to adapt to some of the exotic setups Ryan Newman has he will compete for one maybe two wins a year. I was also able to switch over to Rusty's radio conversation since they are a lap behind on the internet. He did not say anything out of the norm.

I agree Rusty over corrects his car all the time, he should take a few lessons from Newman on the set-ups. He is trying to win.....too much these days...let the wins come ...they will happen. If he goes out and trys to run in the top ten and sets his car up for this kind of run, i think he will have a lot better finish and thus a better points finish this season.

I have to say I agree.

Many times Rusty has a okay ride but has changes made that bite him in the end. He still has the drive. Still want's to win. And will win again.

No different than many veteran drivers. He's in a rut. Bill Elliott went through a couple of dismal seasons a few years back. Mark Martin had one and may be about to have another. Earnhardt had an atypical season tossed in there as well. He'll rebound soon, and then he'll cuss us ALL out for doubting him. :p
