I'm reading a book called The Athena Factor by W. Michael Gear. I haven't really decided if it is a good book or not. It is kind of a strange premise about stealing and dealing in celebrity DNA. I don't usually read this type of book, but it was the best option I could find at the Dollar Tree. I'm only about 70 pages or so in and it has potential.

I have, however, read a couple of really good books lately. The last two I've read were Mafia Summer by E. Duke Vincent. That was a really good book, one of the best I've read in a long time. It's about a guy who grew up in Hell's Kitchen in the 50's. He's a gang leader and his dad is a caporegime in the Mangano family of the mafia. It's a fictional story and it's about a lot more than the mafia. It's more of a story about friendships and choices we make.

I also read Hornet's Nest by Patricia Cornwell. I liked it a lot more than I have her Kay Scarpetta series. It was really just a good read with good, richly developed, and much more believable characters than her other books.
