Anybody Watching?

I'm watching it, it looks like the wind on the backstraightaway is really killing their backstraightaway speeds.

Also, I hear that NASCAR has to find lots of cars to fill the field because of sponsorship trouble, probably due to that new 26 race- 10 playoff system. That means we'll probably have like 10 Derrike Cope like drivers during the race probably. Thank you for screwing us up Brian France <_<

Welcome to the GBFC!

The info about lack of sponsorship during 2004 has been around since Silly Season started, and I believe that the point system change only increased sponsor's trepidation. I tend to agree with Happy.

Im watchin too... and I thought I was gonna get to brag bout Sadler since he was on the pole for a lil while... I've not give up on him yet..lol.... GO ELLIOTT GO :D

A good sponsorship deal is signed, sealed and delivered long before the season starts at Daytona in Febuary. Most are done deals at least a few months or a year ahead of time.
A lot of companies fiscal year runs from June to June and their budgets are set accordingly.

I doubt the new point system has had any effect on the lack of sponsors for this season. I think the problem more likely lies in the state of the economy and the costs associated with buying a primary sponsorship deal with even a single car, back marker team.
There are lots of other advertising venues that give as much or more exposure for lots less money than the millions of dollars requested by most top tier NASCAR teams today.

Shhhhhhhh if you be very very quiet you can start to hear the chevy owners start to whine.

I think Greg Biffle will be the surprise of the 2004 season!!

You heard it here first. LOL :bounce:

One pole does not equal a surprise for the entire season, sorry to say. I doubt he will run that good in the 500,look for the DEI and Childress cars to be in the hunt for the win. Hendrick cars look good also, i just don't see Biffle having a breakout season, although i like the guy and he is a good racer.

Uh, Trout?? what's up with that sig??
