Anyone believe that......

I don't, atleast not in the way most people are considering. There may be a filing of Bankruptcy (sp) and a reorganization have to take place to try and salvave what they can but that is the only way I see it happening.

i really don't think a chapter 11 reorganization court would allow 100,000,000.00+ a year being invested in racing

That's what I'm saying.
BUT.... even with that I don't think they'll pull out completly, they will be allowed advertising money and sme will go to NASCAR.

I don't think any of them will just say they're pulling out of NASCAR and walk away.

I think if Toyota comes in and does well, there's no way any of the big 3 will leave for fear of making themselves look like they were bested by a foreign car maker.

Wasn't it Toyota's president that said he's consider raising car prices to help spur sales of American automobiles? That had to hurt!! Just think if Toyota manages to steal a win their first year in. You know GM/Ford/Dodge would throw even more money into their programs before they would consider leaving.

Edited to add that yup, it was Toyota:

They will have to have a driver and team on top of their game for that to happen....So I doubt it will happen....but you never know.

Considering the only Drivers we know about is MW & DJ with MWR is NO reason to discount the possibility of Toyota winning in their first year. In fact, I'll bet they do.

remember bill davis is the third confirmed toyota.

Waltrip
Blaney (or whoever lands next in the roundabout 22 car)
Jarrett

I heard there's going to be 6 cars total. Who's the other 3? Only time will tell.

All I've heard is that there will be three Toyota teams...Michael Waltrip Racing, Red Bull Racing and Bill Davis Racing.
D.J. is the only "confirmed driver" so far.

Mikey and Bill Davis are sharing data i believe, they will be seperate but have vested interests....i think Speed was saying something about that last week. Roby Gordon is the most likely Other name to do Toyota, with his ties through IRL and RedBull it would be the logical step. Plus i think it would actually give him a ligitimate chance for a win on an oval , if in fact he doesn't get by the end of this year. I really think Toyota will get 2-3 wins next year, that is my prediction and i'm sticking to it....lol

Y'all are getting away from the original question. Most everyone would consider it sacrilege if GM pulled out, but in fact, they have been the maker of the last two makes to leave the sport. Both Ford and GM are having major problems with GM in the worst situation. Daimler/Chrysler isn't showing up in the red, but I wouldn't count them out of the process either. Ford pulled out for some years so it isn't beyond their vision to leave the sport. So, if D/C isn't in the red, Ford has a history of leaving and GM has the last two make to leave, how can we suggest that it will probably be Daimler/Chrysler that is about to take a hike from NASCAR? Well, that's my guess.

Nobody is pulling out...not going to happen way too much to lose in the whole tradition angle and $$. Why would D/C pull out just because? The dodges are just starting to come around this year, Kasey is doing pretty good Newman is ok, even Riggs is doing much better. Jeremy has issues though, i see Ray saying bye to him before the year is up. Daimler speaks a lot about performance and what not on the track, but for them to pull out with the emergence of the SRT8 Charger and the rumored Challenger in 08 would kill their entire marketing strategy. If......very huge if any of them scales back it will be GM on a trial basis, they are in the process of restructuring right now. If they decide to pul back a little i can only see Childress getting hurt the most. No way will they pull backing from Hendrick!
