Anyone care to explain to me what happened during today's race?

I hear a lot about Denny, Joey, and Tony, but I can't find anything anywhere, and missed the race today.

Could someone please fill me in?

Thanks, I appreciate it. Joey needs his ass beat, and Tony would definitely do it had he not been held back, haha.

I honestly don't see what tony is so mad at. the were racing for the WIN at that point. its not like joey blocked tony with 100 to go. as for joey and denny. joey threw a race win away. I always imagine myself in a particular drivers position and what I would do in that situation. once I took the white flag and if denny got to the outside I would have dumpped him. noone would have faulted joey, all he could have said was denny took the chance at a race win away in bristol I simply did the same here today. I would have tried to hit denny hard enough to take away any chance of him coming back and returning the favor before the race was done, but not totally wreck him. however if he got wrecked so be it. further I will say other drivers took note that joey didn't dump denny outright and I feel that will haunt joey in the future.

I find it hard to believe that you couldn't find anything about it seeings how it's all they are talking about currently.

Tarzie, if you get SPEED Channel you might want to search out and record the race replay.
It was probably the best CUP race ever at Fontucky!

As for Tony: STFU. You have done much worse to other drivers!
As for Denny: I'm sure his spotter told him that the 18 was coming on the outside. Otherwise, he probably would have moved up higher and avoided contact with the 22.
As for Logano: Good Job! He got a little loose going for the win but normally there would have been more room for him to slide up a little more. He did a great job all day!
As for Pee Wee: NICE WIN! Glad I picked you in my fantasy league this week! First JGR/Toyota win at the track JGR has owned in the N'wide Series! WTG!!
Again for Denny: Glad to her you are OK. Hope you are well enough to strap in for your home track, Martinsville!
As for NASCAR: Every concrete wall a driver can see should be lined with a SAFER Barrier!!!
Again for NASCAR: Good call on mandating the HANS device. Denny and Elliott Sadler are alive today because of it!

Sometimes things get lost in the wash. I missed the race today because of the basketball tournament and would have had to troll through pages of the race thread to find out what happened so I appreciate the thread and links to the videos.

I'm lazy :p

Great post, man.
Yes, Tony is my driver. But, imo, he's way outta line here. I'm not one of those guys here who sees there driver with a halo on all the time. Tony would've done the same thing. And he did - last year at Talladega.

Let's put safer barriers on all inside walls of our NASCAR tracks starting today and not when someone becomes a crash test dummy because you thought no one would EVER hit that area of the track.
Do it now.

I totally agree. Eric McClure almost hit the portion of the backstretch not protected by the SAFER barrier in the Nationwide Talladega race last year in his brutal wreck. The tracks should be proactive, not reactive.

Exactly.

It took a pretty good hit on Jeff Gordon's driver side @ the Richmond backstretch a few years ago for the track officials to decide they may want to put up safer barriers there. Which they did, thankfully.

He had a really hard hit in Vegas too, which caused the track to redesign the emergency vehicle access passages.

I agree that Tony was mad over nothing but that doesn't change the fact that Logano is a whiny little twat that is impossible to root for.

lol Get. Over. It. lol
You probably hate Kyle Busch too, right? :D

Elliot Sadler is lucky to be here after the head on crash into the dirt wall at Pocono a few years ago. Ripped the engine completely out of the car. I said this in the other thread, if there is a wall, there is a chance a driver will hit it. SAFER barriers all around. It won't solve every issue, but will go a long way. Mark Martin almost ended up crushed by the put road wall in Michigan last year. That was just weird circumstances. Sidebar: Watch the video of that Mark Martin wreck. Best part is with just a few seconds left, NASCAR official tosses some debris into the car. One of Clint Bowyer's crew members yells at the official, "don't throw it in the F'in seat". I remembered seeing that live, and laughing.

Yeah, I remember that too. Hilarious.

Logano is a punk ass bitch, but I don't know if he did anything wrong. With regards to Stewart there.

That's not true.. I root for him every week, have for years. Will for years, especially now that he's becoming the front runner he should have years ago.

You trolling? First Top 5 for Logano in 8 and a half months and he's "becoming a front runner".

Your boy ran a good race yesterday, but let's wait for him to rack up some more T5s and T10s before we call him a "front runner".

Shame shame, lot of gutter mouths on this thread, if you cant say something nice about someone etc etc etc.

You couldn't think of anything nice to say about the Westboro Baptists ? Just the 5 - 4 - 3- 2-1 thingy ?
