if you are, i am envious..............i will not even be able to see it on t.v.............. thanks to my wonderful job, i will be out to sea for the 500........... i guess my wife will have to tape it for me............. i hope everyone had a good New Year's Eve

Fan of 5, while it was a great experience to see the race live and in person, I'll never do it again. Watching it on TV is much better. God bless you for serving our country. Maybe they will have it onboard your ship. :)

i have been to a few 500, and i love the live action. thanks for the support!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Mrs and I were there when Earnhardt died. We sat in the superstretch and had a hard time seeing anything, even when standing. The big one was right in front of us and if it wasn't for the TV's in front of us, we wouldn't have been able to see what happened. We prefer the shorter tracks where you can see all the action.

i have not been to Bristol or Martinsville, and the shortest tracks i have been to are Darlington, Homestead and Loudon, and i did like the view better.

Of course, on the shorter tracks, when you are there in person, you can see action everywhere. I remember a couple of years ago at Martinsville, Rusty Wallace spun Bobby Hamilton. Rusty was leading and Bobby seemed to be in his way. Listening on the scanner, Bobby said the he was going to get that SOB. From then on, I had my eye on Bobby to see when he would do it. Yep, once Rusty got around him, Bobby took him out. I don't believe that Rusty was in the lead at that point, so I don't think TV had the cameras on him, but probably had it on replay. A very exciting race that one was.

I wish I was going to Daytona. :(

buckaroo, get seats in the Earnhardt Tower on the frontstretch. Fabulous view of everything.

FANOF5, I salute you for your service to our country. I do hope the ship will carry the race.

I won some tickets that are on the finish line but dont know if i can go

TRL, no thanks, I just don't have any want to go there again. Even if I could get seats right at the start/finish line, I would pass. Being at that track just isn't my cup of tea. I'll take the fun of watching on TV.

I wish I could go too.................I have only been to the 2 races ( at Kansas ).
