PHRumppphhhhhh! I'm done with Christmas trees. To damn much trouble. That goes for outdoor decorations. So far, we are the oonly house on this end of our street without Christmas decorations. I've been thinking about putting a sign in the front yard saying, "BAH! Humbug!"
If I want Christmas, I go one-quarter mile to my daughters house. She's got kids and a tree. And beer in the refrigerator.
Here on Woodyhill Road, at home, our tree is two feet tall and already has lights on it. Just gotta get it out of the storage room and put it on the end table. Gifts? Me and my Bride no longer exchange gifts. What do you give to someone who has everything they say they could want? Same here. What I really want right now is to find the leak in the firewall of my Dakota! Maybe I should ask Santa for that! Hrumphhhh!
Our Christmas is 365 days a year. We have our daughter, her husband and two grandsons and our son and family and grandson, all in good health and staying in touch, being friends as well as family. We pretty much have all we could want. Got some other things beyond the love and closeness of family that consist of material things but they are unimportant by comparison.
But not to put a damper on anyone else's holiday, I'll take the opportunity to wish everyone
Happy Holidays
and no matter which holiday you chose to celebrate, may they be filled with good thoughts and cheer, good health and love, while surrounded by family and friends.
