Is there anyone here on this board heading to Bristol next week? Are you camping or staying in a motel/hotel? Just seeing if anyone would like to get together for a beer or two or..... Trying to put some faces with some names. My son & I will be there Tuesday, 9am & The Landing Campground. :beerbang:

I live 2 hours away. No reason for me to camp out or get a hotel room.

I heard tht Good tickets are still availible is that true? I'd love to go but I'll be fishing a tournemant that weekend.

I wouldn't be surprised @ all that seats remain. It's not the normal draw that it used to be since the track reconfiguration. Some like it, like me, most don't. People seem to prefer the wrecks over the racing. That's OK by me though. I like being able to stretch my legs once and a while and it much easier when your row is only half full. ;)

One of these years I will get out there for a race. I for one, love the fact that drivers can pass without having to "rattle his cage" to do so...

I watch racing for racing - not for wrecks.

When Bruton Smith considers changing Bristol back to the way it was, I'll consider shelling out the money to go.

Count Andy as one of those that would rather see wreckin' than racin'.

Count me as someone who doesn't enjoy the superspeedway cookie cutter style of racing at Bristol. There's nothing unique about Bristol anymore.

Can you honestly say that the racing at Bristol nowadays stands out?

Damm I have to agree with Andy

What stands out to you about the old Bristol? Earnhardt getting into T. Labonte, twice? Gordon knocking Wallace out of the way? Guys getting wrecked and then throwing their helmets at the guy who wrecked them? I don't consider those moments racing.

RUBBIN IS RACIN

LOL, Thats great!

BTW, Terry was'nt an innocent Victim during the Labonte vs Earnhardt duels at Bristol one Won the fight in 98 and the other Won in 99.

Sorry it slips my mind which Won which year could be the :beerbang:

The racing at the current Bristol configuration is far better than in the past, IMO.

As I said earlier, I watch racing for RACING, not wrecks. It doesn't take much talent to push another driver out of your way,
re: Steve Wallace among others.

What's better? Watching one guy lead the entire race with very little action? I don't watch for the crashes either but almost nothing happens at Bristol now.

Well see in a couple weeks butt it seems to me the racing Has Been Better since they reconfigured the track a few years ago. Although there has been a couple dominate cars lately?

I used to Love Bristol when Jr Johnson's cars where wicked fast there :D That man could sure build a short track car.

We arrived @ our campsite yesterday morning @ 9am. After we got set up we had to head out for all of those last minute things that you always seem to forget when packing, so where @ but Wal-Mart. When you pull in to the Wal-Mart parking lot they have a huge sign stating that Dale Jr. will be there on Thursday to sign autographs from 6-8pm. Note to self, 'Stay the hell away from Wal-Mart on Thursday'. While my son & I were checking out we saw that Kevin Harvick was to be coming in later in the afternoon. Being my son's favorite driver, we couldn't pass that up. He signed my son's hat and shirt and took a couple pictures with him. Very cool! Say what you want about Harvick, but it's pretty cool to have you son meet their favorite driver and get their chance to interact with him.

Later after returning to our campsite I was sharing a few adult beverages with some friends when a black, Bristol Motor Speedway van stopped @ our site. Out jumps a familiar looking face from the passenger side. One of my buddies yells 'Ricky'. Ricky Carmichael and his gang walks over and hands us some Monster Energy drinks. He was basically riding around promoting tonight's Truck race and some of his products. Cool none the less.

That's it for now. Time to put more beverages on ice.
