I agree, I think the format is stupid.
Actually, I like this format. It gives the team members a chance to shine on an individual basis. The driver and CC take a back seat to the team.

Yeah the pit crew challenge is about as much fun as a Kate Hudson movie. They should just do it as part of the All Star hype before the race.
