Apparently this guy did not see the replay of Riggs getting loose before he lost it.

well well well, this is rather an interesting read.

but who cares about the guy been wrong about who wrecked who.. if this is true then that guy from the 10 crew have better stay incognito because i dont think harvick will be understanding of the situation..and also he should be banned from nascar if nascar ever finds out who it was.

NASCAR knows who did it. The idiot knocked down a NASCAR official just for good measure.

Thats horrible. I agree if/when they find out who did it they should lose their NASCAR lisence(sp).
At our local track when someone start some crap like that they where gone for the rest of the year, but hell this is NASCAR, this is the big boys. They should have more class then to act like some kid.

I agree. I honestly thought at first when I saw the replay that Kevin got impatient (and even then it would be justified). Riggs just lost it.

There was barely a comment on Network TV, BUT I'll bet that NASCAR will straighten it out!

Harvick commented if you saw the postrace report on CNBC.

By the way, credit to NBC for 84 laps of commercial-free green flag coverage. :beerbang:

The football fans are complaining that they didn't push the race over to CNBC sooner. Kinda shocked they did that and cut from the election coverage.

who cares about football....GIVE US OUR RACE!

And being reported Delana has a twisted ankle....

*sniff**sniff*I smell a lawsuit*sniff**sniff*

There was really no conclusine evidence either way. The camera angles were good but not the best. I think Kevin may have taped him.

Kevin admitted getting into the back of Riggs.

From RacingOne...

The scuffle was the result of an on-track incident between Harvick and Riggs late in Sunday's Dickies 500. Harvick ran into the rear of Riggs racing off turn four, with the No. 10 Dodge hitting the wall hard and setting off a multi-car accident in its wake.

"He was blocking all over the place, he wound up on the bottom. I got a good run on top, I got in back of him and spun him out," Harvick said.

I care alot about football. Redskins beat the Cowboys :bounce:

You shoulda known it was coming. I was kinda surprised they didn't push the race to CNBC or MSNBC (Which was running election coverage) at 7pm. Still, CNBC is going to get it's highest ratings EVER.

I just don't understand now people are bashing NBC for pushing the postrace to CNBC. They went 84 laps of coverage commercial-free. I think that's something worth praising.

It's a wonder nobody else hit the wall in that melee. It was a mess.

Well at least he is honest....bumb move, but honest. Riggs has been a good racer as of late

See it didn't even look like Harvick touched Riggs. Either way, I saw that one coming when he was blocking Johnson. He was clearly slower than Johnson and Harvick and he was blocking like a mad man. I called it when he blocked off Johnson I just said to Jeff and Adam "I see what's fixin' to happen here."

From the sound of Harvicks comments, he (whether touching Riggs or not) had intention to "move" him out of the way. It's not exactly like Harvick backed out of the throttle after Riggs got out of shape. He just stayed in it & finished the job.I feel bad that anyone else was involved like his wife & an official, but Harvick has been lucky to have made it this long without physically being pounded by someone, IMO. If Kevin had manned up with the Rooster a few years back, he would have been settled down then....just think this was inevitable.

I have always thought the guy doing the blocking was placing hisself in danger.. I'd like to see more faster cars moving the blockers out of the way.
I hate to bring this up but Dale was blocking when he lost his life.
Blocking ain't racing! If a guy can take the lane you are not using and make the pass..good for him. But by blocking both lanes..well we all saw it yesterday.
Betsy;)

Well your post is a little wierd....what else is new..
So you agree that Harvik was ok in doing what he did, and you are ok that Dale is dead because he was blocking???? Because if more cars move blockers out of the way there could be more Dales out there........

You cannot block two lanes with faster cars. I think Harvick is ok in what he did. Riggs was blocking high and low where there were two much faster cars than him. 3 laps to go in the race, this happens. Harvick needed to get by Riggs to stay with Johnson and Scott Riggs wasn't going to give him any room and made that clear when he made the block he did. So, is Kevin supposed to sit behind a car that's 3 mph slower than his and potentially lose positions and championship points?

I am hearing that the Evernham employee that attacked the Harvicks was a red headed female with glasses . Anyone know who that might be ? and can anyone confirm that ?

Riggs' crewman knocks down Harvick
Posted: Sunday November 5, 2006 10:35PM; Updated: Sunday November 5, 2006 10:35PM

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- An unidentified crewman for Scott Riggs' team knocked driver Kevin Harvick, his wife and a NASCAR official to the ground on pit road Sunday, minutes after the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

It was apparently in retaliation for an incident late in the race.

Harvick was close behind Riggs when the latter crashed while running third on lap 332 of the 339-race event. It appeared Harvick's car took the air off the rear deck of Riggs' car and Riggs was unable to maintain control.

Jan McCormick Jr., a public relations representative for Harvick, said Kevin and DeLana Harvick were walking to the infield media center for a postrace interview when two Riggs crewmen made several comments to them.

"They were just talking a little smack, which is normal, and then one of them came up and gave Kevin a push in the back," McCormick said. "Kevin fell into DeLana and she fell into a NASCAR official and all three of them fell to the ground."

He said the men ran away but Mike Dillon, competitive director for Richard Childress Racing, which fields Harvick's car, went after them and took the man who pushed Harvick to the NASCAR hauler.

The Harvicks were not injured, but the NASCAR official, identified as John Sacco, was taken to the infield medical center with what was reported to be a sprained ankle.

"Those guys decided they wanted to take matters into their own hands and trip my wife in front of their pit box," Harvick said. "That's a little bit unnecessary, so we're not too happy about that."

Team officials for Evernham Motorsports, which fields Riggs' car, said there would be no immediate comment on the situation and NASCAR officials said they were investigating the incident.

Um ... NASCAR says Delana and the official were injured

It wouldn't take long for the blocking to slow waaaay down. Can you remember many that blocked Dale? He seemed to have an answer for em, didn't he. The blocking would only be going on if the guys being blocked would allow it! The faster car in the back of a slower car doing the blocking has all the advantage... remember rubbing is racing.
Betsy;)

i agreed with betsy and andy on this one... if you're blocking a faster car you are bound to get moved out of the way, and it its even worse when you push the issue blocking 2 lanes when you're slower than the guy behind you.

but i dont think kevin had the intention of moving riggs until the situation arose.

Nor do I. Harvick was really just that much faster. Riggs is just an idiot, that's why he's got exactly 0 Nextel Cup wins :XXROFL:

In all seriousness, the spotter probably didn't tell Riggs how fast the 29 was coming. Remember, Harvick was the fastest car on the track. Whether he did or not and Scott decided to push the issue or just didn't know he was there, it's all speculation at this point. I just think Harvick had a run and Riggs made a bonehead move trying to block him.

It really looked to me when I saw it live that he hit him. Then they showed the replay and it looked like Riggs just got loose off the front bumper of Harvick. Same thing as Junior and Carl at Michigan, except you can't dispute Junyer hit Carl.

Try to remember your getting the story from Jan Mcormick who is harvicks PR chick . I think I will wait untill I hear the story from someone that is impartial .

Harvick may have brought this on himself , remember Richmond and Rudd ?
There is a good reason alot of people call Kevin Yap Yap .

The only difference is, Harvick does not start a fight unless the whole crew is their to fight it for him.

No that's not what I meant.
Harvick does not start anything unless he has a large group around him, so he can keep his nose clean. Point being, someone else very well did start it. :D

I can appreciate Kevin keeping a cool head given the circumstances and his past reputation. God knows that if someone ever directly or indirectly inflicted harm on my wife I could care less who they are. As a matter of pride and dignity I'd be taking somebody to the woodshed.

But it takes a real man to hit another in the back.....

As i said we only have Harvicks PR chick and Bob Dilners third hand account of what happened and neither one of those sources are good enough for me

Lets see if I have this right , If you cuss me like a dog and maybe throw in a few cracks about my moma and I punch you in the face but as you are going down for the count you fall onto your wife , thats on me ?
