Are you a "loyal brand" NASCAR fan?

Are you? Are you one of those folks who support certain brands because they are NASCAR sponsors? I am - to an extent. Here are some brands, both old and new, that I've been loyal to due to their support for NASCAR:

Chevrolet
Goodyear
Home Depot
Busch beer
Tide laundry detergent

Others are coincidental, such as Coca Cola. I've always preferred Coke.

How about you?

Not even close.

I buy products based on my needs...what Jeff Burton or Jimmie Johnson or Matt Kenseth have on the side/roof/trunk/bumper/fender/firesuit of their cars never crosses my mind.

Although, I do like Busch beer and I own a Chevy...then again , I also own a Volkswagen and a Dodge.

I suppose my brand loyalty comes from what my parents used when I was a kid and lived at their house.

Nope

I own 3 Hondas of different ages and styles.

Wouldn't buy anything else.

Never paid much attention or loyalty to any sponsor unless they were going to pay me to carry their logo.

Not really but if there are 2 brands of a product that i need and they are the same price i would choose the one that supports racing(NASCAR or any other series). If the race supporting sponsor is more expensive i wont get it though

I'm not either, but I understand the reason for the sponsorship. Its advertising and though we may not believe we are being loyal, in many ways we are. How many of us have purchased a t-shirt or jacket that is supposed to be about our favorite driver, but is more overshadowed by their sponsor? The money for that souvenir may not go to the sponsor, but it gives them free advertising. That would make you a loyal fan of that sponsor.

Hail no. I buy what I want/need and not because some driver endorses it.
Chances are they're getting the product or service free or at a greatly reduced cost, something you and I never will.

Absolutely not. When I have to make a purchase whether it's on the side of a car or not never enters my mind. In fact, I don't recall that it ever has.

Nope, I buy things because they are a quality product, not because they happen to sponsor a racing team. Which is why I hate Budwiser. Budwiser is piss water, and anyone who tells you different is lying.

It's a matter of price with me, Nascar never figures into the equation.

Have to disagree Mopar, I'd rather spend the extra bucks for something that works rather then get the el cheapo and be constantly agravated.

It depends on if I like the product or not. Nascar has nothing to do with it.

Nope heck the last time I even liked my drivers sponser was when Bill Elliott drove the McDonalds car.:D

Big ticket items, I agree, but I'll buy the no name cheaper product any time.

I am. Because of Danica, I only buy Motorola phones, I am switching to Boost Mobile (had to wait until my Verizon contract was up), I use Peak antifreeze, and I have GoDaddy domains. I am not kidding either...;)

I don't let anybody who gets paid to say they use a product, convince me to use it. Dale Jr is my favorite and I hate Bud, don't like Jimmie but I always shop at Lowes.

No.

I don't drink bull**** beer, I don't drive "Made in China" American piece of **** cars and I will never put another Goodyear POS on my car. I've had two of them damn things blow out on me.

Did you check to make sure they weren't Brickyard 400 edition:D

I hate Jimmie but I shop at Lowes because they simply have better products and the staff is much more knowledgable than The Home Depot.

I like Harvick but I only drink MGD and Yuengling (well, I drink all the local brews in B'more). When Shell sponsored Harvick, never went there because their gas prices are abhorrent.

And NASCAR couldn't pay me to use a Sprint phone.

True story. My favorite driver used to be Rusty Wallace. Even though I was a Chevy guy, he drove for Pontiac (GMC), so that justified my support for him. I started drinking Miller Genuine Draft - solely to support Rusty's sponsor.

Well, when Rusty switched to Ford, I dropped both him and MGD like a bad transmission. Silly? Perhaps. But it just goes to show you how far I went to support (or not support) certain brands in NASCAR.

(Give me a break, though. I was single and in my early twenties. I even bought yellow and black sneakers to match my Rusty Wallace gear back then. Oh, boy. Talk about an ugly sight to see.)

Back when Mark Martin drove a ford I was no Dan. Now he's in a chevy and I want to see him win!

I'm more loyal to the brand then anything else. But I just like GM cars & trucks

still adding to the danica room?

Funny, the Lowes and Home Depot here seem to be the opposite. If I walk into Lowes, I'm lucky if I ever find anyone to help me, regardless of what department I'm in. To be honest, I initially switched because I liked Stewart, but then found that the customer service was better at the Depot. (apparently it's not like that everywhere)

MGD is like sex in a canoe...f-ing close to water (same with the A/B brands), so I'll either drink Sierra Nevada, or if I need to spend a little less and get a decent beer, it'll be Yuengling. The closest Shell here almost always has the best prices, and they have a good car wash.

Ironically it's the exact opposite here. I have 2 Lowe's and 2 HD's within ten miles of my house. At HD it seems they couldn't care less about customers, they ignore you. At Lowe's it's completely opposite. I have asked them to leave me alone, I know what I want.

There's 7 Lowes and 10 HD's in this state. I don't know how there's enough business to support them all.

Let me add, all dimensional lumber, 2x's etc, today is krap. The chinese plywood is krap. I've submitted my receipts for the chinese drywall fiasco. But Lowes, IMHO, has a better grade of krap then HD.

What's funny is the Lowes and HD here are litterally right across the street from each other.

Same thing where I live. They are located next door to each other. It does make it convenient for comparison shopping though.

I much prefer Yuengling but MGD costs a whole lot less at the liquor store.

Honestly, grocery stores in VA have a much wider selection of beer than the liquor stores here in MD (have to go to a liquor store here).

Coors, Bud and Corona are trash.

I think subliminally nascar is the reason I hate Sprint so damn much.

I had Sprint. Dropped calls 4 times out of 5. ****ty reception. And if there were more than 200 people in any given area, the phones didn't work.

Couldn't use it at the dragstrip (network overload), couldn't use it at the NASCAR SPRINT Cup races (network overload), couldn't use it at a high school football game.

I've heard they've gotten better, but I won't switch back. Never again.

A buddy got Nextel and it sucked, they said the service would get better but never did, he dropped it and went back to att

I had Nextel and then Sprint I've liked both of them.

All cell phones suck at one location or another. They are way overpriced for the service that they provide IMO.

I dunno, my Verizon has never failed me.

I have beef with VZW. I had 450/month unlimited text and data for $65. They changed over to Nationwide plans and the same plan cost the same amount of money. But they automatically downgraded my account to their basic $30/month plan without downgrading my bill. My jaw hit the ground when I had a $380 phone bill.

They refused to fix this ****up so I refused to stay a VZW customer. I paid the bill and the cancellation and went to AT&T.

My sister had the same problem with them -- she had unlimited text, but they automatically downgraded her texting options so she got a $1,000 phone bill in the mail. They wouldn't fix it, so she went to AT&T.

I'll agree that Verizon and ATT are the best but even they have pockets where they don't work. Perhaps not in your area but you do notice them when traveling away from major cities and interstates.

I get AT&T service everywhere I do. 3G, not so much. Had it at SoBo, did not have it in some of the counties.

The iPhone is a beast... everything else is just an imitator.

Now that's what I call a crap load of texting!
