Are you doing ok, Paul?

I went to a funeral service today for a friend who died of heart troubles. Judy was a heavy smoker and only 58 years old.

I have another service to attend on Friday. Sandy was only 57 and died of lung cancer. Guess what she did too much of.

Keep the faith, Paul. One day at a time.

Alaska, thank you for asking and yes things are fine, I still haven't smoked.

A freind stopped over yesterday to say hello and he smoked the whole time, while I wanted to join him I didn't want to ruin the week or so that I've had.

I didn't smoke. :)

Congrats Paul, I feel about the same as you Alaska. Over the summer me and a bunch of my friends always play hockey, and a couple of my friends bring other friends that I am acquaintences with. Well over the weekend one of my acquaintences hung himself, so all my friends back home are going to the funeral and I'm stuck 120 miles away. He was only a college junior.

:) :) :D :D

It gets easier everyday. Not that it's easy, but it does get easier to ignore the cravings.

I think there is one less craving each day.

Keep it up, Paul, before you know it, you'll forget all about wanting smokes and all that nasty crap. :)

Keep it up Paul. It will be worth it when you have it beat. I wasn't a smoker but I chewed Copenhagen for may years. I started at 12 yrs. old. I managed to quit about 15 yrs. ago. One of the toughest things I have ever done. I used chewing gum to try to appease my habit if having something in my mouth. Seemed to work the best. Also quit alcohol around the same time because that is when I wanted to chew the worst. Try to avoid the activities that bring on the worst cravings. At least for the first few months.

I get the biggest cravings when I drink coffee and read the news in the morning.

Oh, and driving is horrible! :)

I went through the newspaper cravings at first and could not sit still long enough to read the Sunday paper and in particular the comics. So, I saved the comics those first few weeks thinking I could read them later.

Well, I never read them but got myself into a fetish for making sure I'd have them on hand if I did want to read them. Well, I now have nearly 600 weeks of the Sunday comics stacked under a table in the family room. SOMEDAY!!!! I'll get a round tuit. :)

But, there are some smaller victories...:)

Last night I went around blowing out the candles before we went to bed and swear I was able to do it at least 2 feet further away than usual. :):)

Are you starting to cough up the green/brown crap yet?

Don't worry too much about it, that's just your lungs cleaning themselves out now that no more of it is coming in. Once they're through with that, you'll feel better than you ever have.

You know though, I actually like the "idea" of smoking. I always thought pipes smelled great, and fresh tabacco can have a nice flavor.

Just wish they didn't fill them up with poison.

So we can all take it you are still smoke free? Good for you!!:)

oh yeah//DE is gonna buy a pipe this weekend...........almost forgot..........right DE?:D

Yeah, you didn't want to go last Sunday after the race!!:)

DE, you shold quit smoking. It's amazing how good you feel even after a week or two.

A pipe would be nice though, Julie ain't havin it though. :(

I actually did quit about 10 yrs ago (for almost a year!!)..........but stupid me started again!! I've done the pipe thing before and once I got used to it I actually didn't smoke much at all. But, cigarettes were so much easier........Cutie will probably get me to quit. She's pretty persistant when she sets her mind to something!:)
