So, who gets the 10 car?
I'm sure this can't be a big surprise to SHR.

I really like Josh Berry, and Briscoe isn't bad, but SHR's 2024 driver lineup might end up being the most underwhelming 4-car team in recent history.
I was thinking this last night, it can’t be very often a full four-car entry has entered a Cup season with one whole Cup win to its credit. There’s some potential but it’s gotta be nearly unprecedented for such a big team to be so unproven.

Problem with Noah is getting sponsorship for him. I honestly think SHR would be better off dropping to a 3 car team. Losing the bacon money hurts and tony has lost his interest in NASCAR. Lease or sell that 4th charter.

They need a veteran presence. There aren’t any free agents who can provide that though.

Tony doesn’t seem too interested in NASCAR.
SHR seems like a mediocre organization.
What are you basing your opinion on? I hope it isn't something as shallow as because he is interested in drag racing. I mean you can still have a life outside of NASCAR and still be very interested in it.

Well he used to be at the track every Sunday, lately not so much.

I am of the same opinion and I base it on the fact that he went and got himself a full time weekend job in drag racing and he was THE FACE of the team until he hooked up with Leah. I'm not knocking him for finding other things to do, but especially when your co-owner is a total non-public figure, I think it hurt the team on some level. How many other major team partners have such a small at track presence? Harvick more than anyone has been the face of SHR for several years, what happens in another week when he's gone? Greg Zippadelli? Heck, I couldn't pick Joe Custer out of a police lineup, that's how big of a presence HE has.

And how many of them are in the playoffs?
Kevin Harvick for years was the only driver for SHR that was in the playoffs, and that was long before he got married and went drag racing. Tony was racing Sprint cars part time, owning two dirt tracks and owner of a Sprint car series.

SHR apparently was good enough at that time to that Tony's divided attention didn't matter. They're not near as good now, and about to be a lot worse. A major at track presence ala Jeff Gordon could go a long way towards righting that leaking ship. It's undeniable that SHR has been a lot less potent since Tony stopped being a driver and deeply involved every week.

I mean, to be fair. Penske misses alot of Cup races being at Indy Races, and they seem to be fine. Which you could see being the same as Tony not being at the Cup races.

Lack of performance on everyone but Harvick.
The teams that are winning have owners at the track, invested in every race.

So, do you think Penske shouldn't have an Indy car team? He doesn't even come close to attending every NASCAR race.

There were some rumors earlier in the year of McDowell possibly going there and I think that would’ve been a good add. I think Michael made a good decision to sign a new deal with FRM though. SHR wouldn’t be anything more than a lateral move at the moment, if that.

They have a weak drivers lineup.
Tbh no matter what anyone thinks of him, and he’s definitely still unproven and has appeared to regress in the second half of this Xfinity season (maybe he’s been somewhat looking ahead to next year understandably), I think Josh Berry almost becomes their #1 driver by default.

Depends on who they hire. If it is Gragson, he and Briscoe will have something to say about that. I think they will all run pretty close.

SHR cars in the playoffs by year:
2014: 2
2015: 2
2016: 3
2017: 2
2018: 4
2019: 3
2020: 4
2021: 2
2022: 2
2023: 1

This is the first year Harvick was the only driver at SHR to make the playoffs.
