Scummy scumbag of scumbaggery.
Lance Armstrong confessed to Oprah Winfrey during an interview Monday that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the interview is to be broadcast Thursday on Winfrey's network.

Armstrong was stripped of all seven Tour titles last year following a voluminous U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report that portrayed him as a ruthless competitor, willing to go to any lengths to win the prestigious race.

There's a HUGE difference between steroids in baseball and steroids in cycling. Baseball requires strength and speed, but also requires precise skills and a lot of practice. Cycling is 100% strength and endurance. I'd bet money that Lance Armstrong's steroid use had a much greater impact than Barry Bonds' steroid use.

Aren't they called performance enhancing drugs regardless of the sport? If they are illegal then they are illegal. Regardless of the sport, these athletes were ingesting illegal substances into their bodies to enable them to have a competitive edge. On second thought calling them an athlete is probably an insult to all of the true athletes that actually train and build their strength through traditional methods of dedication and hard work. Cheaters, fraud & lairs is a better way to describe their activities. Armstrong is an embarrassment to our country IMO as are any of the others that practiced his methods.

Look at a picture of Barry Bonds when he was a rookie and look at another when he retired. I t looks like he gained 70 lbs....and he used that extra lbs, gained with illegal drugs, to cheat and break the home run record.

Another reason why I hate MLB......Pete Rose is banned from the HoF because he placed some bets, Bonds and Clemens are allowed to be on the ballot. And Dale Murphy, after his 15th year of being on the balllot, still didn't make it in...

True but there steroid use screwed many people over. The only cycling events I watch is The Tour De France. Looking at the now winners of the tour, after they stripped Armstrong, I don't recognize there names. These guys may be the winners in name value but they never had a victory celebration, nobody seen them actually be declared the winner. Armstrong took those guys fame from them. In baseball where steroid use was rampant in the 90's how many guys in the minor leagues never got the oppertunity to play in the majors and show there skill, because the guy playing there position in the Majors was on something. They lost there shot at making a name for themselvs as well and that is also wrong.

The one baseball name that will always be the prime example of steroid use is Brady Anderson. He played in the majors for 11 seasons and the most homers he ever hit was 21. Then one year in the late 90's he suddenly hits 50 home runs and then never comes close again.

Eh, personally I could care less if he cheated. He's raised a lot of money for cancer research and that's more important in my eyes.

I'm not saying steroid use should be excused and forgiven - just that there's a difference. Bottom line, a lot of people look up to athletes and it's time for athletes and celebrities to act like role-models.

Bonds was a natural a**hole deluxe with or without the Steroids.

Armstrong is an arrogant a**hole. He's trying to curb the enevitable onslaught of litigation. The USPS lawsuit alone looks to be in the neighborhood of $100 million.
I hope this jerk-off is broke when this is all over.

He did come across as a d***. The part where he said at the time he didn't think he was doing anything wrong or even felt like he was cheating had me rolling my eyes. Like I said I didn't really care if he cheated or not but damn dude at least act like you're sorry.

Now they saying he LIED to Oprah.Color me surprised?

I agree and not just cancer research. The support they provide to cancer patients is amazing. Finding a cure is vitally important, but Livestrong recognizes that finding a cure does nothing for those who are afflicted with cancer currently. Living with cancer, and mostly with chemo and it's effects, is extremely difficult. The importance of Livestrong's cancer support it almost impossible to overstate.

The guy is a douche and a cheater, but he is also a hero to many and an inspiration to people like my mother-in-law when she was fighting her cancer. I'm not excusing what he did, but cheating in a sport where absolutely everybody cheats (and nobody would care anything at all about it in this country if it were not for his dominance of the Tour de France) seems to pale in comparison to the good he has done.
