NASCAR was forced to call the caution on Lap 67 because Watts would have been in harm's way had a car spun out or lost control coming off Turn 4 while he was chasing the tire. The caution came in the middle of green flag pit stops, putting more than half the field a lap or more down.
Had Watts not chased the tire NASCAR officials said they would have waited for the green flag stops to cycle out before calling a caution, thus keeping cars all on pit sequence.
What a load of bull
He shoulda let me fetch the tire for him....as talented as I am, i'm sure i could roll a tire 4 times as tall as me, back to pit road.
I'm not a pest!
They told me to say that or they wouldn't pay me...That's not what you said 1 minute and 19 seconds into episode 2.

yeah, I tend to agree. an overreaction on the part of nascar.NASCAR is waaaay over-reacting..... I mean geeze..... Yeah the guy was crazy for doin it....... but he was on his way back to pit road when the yellow was thrown. Albeit a very dangerous situation, NASCAR didn't even have to throw the yellow.......
Heck in its history, NASCAR has had people ALOT closer to the action as part of the job........ ever see some of the early flagmen standin on the track???? how about the cars (sponsors) cars park in the trioval grass at Charlotte, Daytona, etc....... surrounded by dozens of photographers....... geeze. It was a bone head to go out there, yes..... but it was also a bonehead for NASCAR NOT to throw the yellow when the tire started towards the track, if it was all about safty as they claim.......
I feel bad for the guy...... he made one slip of judgement, tryin to help out.
