In spite of the rain, the hubby and I had a great trip. Went to q'ing on Friday night --- it was a blast.
Met Guido on Saturday at the Wal-Mart. He's a really neat guy. He even started the Stacker2 car so I could listen --- music to my ears. LOL
Partied on Saturday with about 20 of my internet buds. Watched lots of football and the BGN race --- all at the same time.
Didn't go to the track on Sunday. I looked out at the rain at 6AM, said "no way there will be racing today", and went back to bed. Watched the 39 laps on TV.
Strangely enough, we didn't go to the race on Monday. I had an appointment in Mooresville on Monday afternoon that was far more important than any race. I have a 'net bud that is seriously ill, and I had to go see her.
Tuesday was more rain. However, we went to DEI --- and I didn't spend the family fortune. LOL Drove on over to Kannapolis and found the statue of Dale. Brought tears to my eyes.
Drove north to RCR and the new museum. Seeing all those lovely black #3 cars was heartbreaking, but exciting at the same time. When you go through the old shop(now museum), you are struck at how small the place was. It's hard to realize that small a place could produce 6 WC championships when you look at the "shops" now. Even got my picture taken with Chocolate.
On Wednesday we started home.
