Austin Cameron will not compete as the driver of the #16 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet in Saturday’s Pontiac Wide Track Grand Prix 200 NASCAR Winston West Series event at California Speedway. Cameron was diagnosed earlier this week with lymphoblastic lymphoma cancer. Final results late yesterday determined that Cameron should not drive in the race this weekend. He is beginning treatment today at Grossmont Cancer Center. For fans who wish to send cards or express their support to Austin, the team asks that those be sent to the team shop at: 3630 Cincinnati Ave., Suite B, Rocklin, CA 95765

Austin is a great driver who has been stuck in WInston West for a while. I hope all goes well for him and his family.

Just a dem shame......

Best luck and wishes to Cameron......... :(

Man...that IS a shame! :( Good luck to Austin...hope things turn out well

That's pretty serious. I hope he's able to pull through it okay.

Depending on how advanced this is when they caught it, this could be very, very bad. If it is in the early stages, there is a fair chance for recovery. If in the later stages, prognosis is not very good. Either way, it will be awhile before he's back in a race car. I wish him well and hope treatment goes well. :(
