Bottas is such a dissapointment. He's so soft.

But at least he got to second...somehow.

Holy ****! Is Mercedes in trouble? This heat on the track seems to be taking its toll on the cars

That was a hell of an overtake to get second place back. Dude has had some **** luck this year, sucks he lost hydrolic pressure.

Is Ferrari going to tell Kimi to let Vettel take his cake again?

This is why Hamilton needs Vettel constantly keeping the pressure on him and Mercedes. They get a little too ****y when they see Red Bull in second like they're not fast enough.

Dumbasses.

It amazes me how often these top teams squander gift wins when they're in a position to do so. The choke is strong with this one.

I knew once Bottas had that failure that Hamilton may blow. Unreal twist as Mercedes was expected to dominate

LOVE IT! Happy for Red Bull and Verstappen but I am stoked for Haas. 4th and 5th. Holy ****. Roman went from no points to almost an accidental podium.

It was looking like a Mercedes run away at the start of this thing. I’ll take it.

Great win for Verstappen and Red Bull.
Awesome weekend for Ferrari, whether we're talking about the team Ferrari, the teams supported by Ferrari, or the Ferrari drivers... hallelujah! For once, they let Kimi keep his position. Props to Ferrari for that.

Look at the Haas duo! Incredible weekend for both of those guys. I imagine Grosjean is off somewhere feeling overjoyed and finally feeling like he can get some respite.

Mercedes lived through their worst nightmare today. I agree with Bottas. He's been in position time and time again to win, and has usually had his chances squandered away through no fault of his own. It does seem like a "bad joke".

Both Saubers got in the points, and Leclerc cheekily got by Ericsson at the last minute. I love the thrashing that Ericsson continues to be given, although I will admit the man actually enjoyed one of his best days in F1. Not bad at all this time.

Williams and Renault. Shameful, shameful, shameful. No points for either of them, and Renault had been eyeballing fourth in the constructor's standings before the race. Ouch.

Force India must be feeling relieved. I think that might be their first double-score of the season. Solid outing for both Ocon and Perez.

We've been subjected to some great racing today all around the world! The A1-Ring and Chicagoland produced plenty of action to fondly look back on.

DVR'd the replay but ESPN is gay for LeBron so I have to wait for the next one. Sounds like a good one though.

After that France brick we were rewarded with a good one in Austria.
Looking forward to Silverstone. Like Mispeedway15 mentioned, this has been
a great F1 season. Enhanced with no commercials.

I lost a lot of respect for Hamilton in this race.

There was nothing wrong with his car. He couldn't take the pressure of Vettel overtaking him and gave up.

I would had have much more respect for him if he would had continued and take the lost like a man.

lol I guess you also think there was nothing wrong with Ricciardo's car and he just couldn't take the pressure of Verstappen leading.

That's a conspiracy theory. Why should he give 12 points away?

Not that it ultimately mattered...but Mercedes said they feared pitting under VSC and then coming out behind their rivals who would stay out, and get stuck behind them. So instead, they pit under green rather than under VSC...and get stuck behind their rivals. I'm not sure under what circumstances it makes more sense to pit under green and lose more time versus pitting under VSC, but that certainly wasn't it.

One of the few disadvantages of being the leader is having to commit to pitting first during a VSC. Which allows those behind the option to do the opposite.

To be fair there is also another possibility to why give away your points like that. In Formula One it looks like teams don't really care about the drivers, all they care is about having the best drivers they can get that can also make things easier for them, and to get more from their sponsors, or even get better sponsors.

Which means that drivers have to constantly prove themselves, some may always be trying to get feedback of where they stand with their contracts, and the ones experienced know that showing weaknesses goes against them, no matter how legendary your results may have been before, your position is always on the line.

That said, it really looked like it was something else, basically a decision made out of frustration, once he got passed, the emotions started to build up inside, and if you know your teammate had problems already, and you had some too, it makes it all that much easier to make up an excuse like that, even if you already pit, and you only have one more lap to go.
