Autumn Colors

The foliage is beautiful this year here in the Southern end of the People's Socialist Democratic Republic of Maryland.

Most colorful Autumn in years.

Now if we could get rid of all the election signs.:beerbang:

This is the time of year when I wished I lived further north --- we just go from summer to winter. Very rarely do we get a true fall, and even then, only some trees will change.

Usually, it's green to dead. LOL

Yeah well maybe you shouldn't be hoping for a "true fall". At your age you'd probably break a hip...

Temperature-wise, we went from summer to winter in about a week but we still get the foliage.

You can thank all of the rain you've gotten this year for the fall colors. See even tho rain may be inconvenient its not something we should wish away,

Everything is still green here. The frost we had today should speed up the change.

I invite anyone who wants to see foliage to come to my house. I'll give you a rake and all the bags you want so you can take them home and enjoy them all winter! Last year we filled 70+ bags. Get here early for the best selection!!!:D

Nah, he'd enjoy it too much. :D;)

SST, I have about 6 acres of trees in my fenced "yard" --- I'll see your 70+ bags and raise you about 100. ;)
Only I don't rake and bag ---- I just mow 'em down.
same at home.

I agree, texas has 2 seasons- inferno and antartica.

I can relate to that. We have 12 trees that are 40 years old. We load up our 5x8 trailor 4ft high...3-4 trips to the compost site. It's worth it for the beauty tho.

Bucky, those were beautiful pics.

I've had only one chance to see some real autumn color ---- back in 2000, I was up in Utah in late September. Up in the high country, the aspens had turned. I've never seen such gold.

TRL, someday you and Mr TRL will have to travel up this way and take a day long trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway. No wait, let's make that two days because if I know you alright, you won't be able to do it in one day. Some of the most breath taking scenery that I've ever seen this far south. But even if you don't make it for the fall colors, take the trip anyway. By the time you make Mabry Mill, you will be ready for some hot/cold drink (depends on when you make the trip). When yer done, you can swing down Raleigh way and whoop the crap outta bp. Yeah, he'll enjoy it, but to make it really worth while, continue to say negative things about NC State while yer whoopin' him.

Ya'll are just too funny!! :D We have plenty of leaves up here, too. Seems they took a while to get started, but now they're all over the place. If anyone would like a big ole Sycamore tree from out front, that will drop things for you for 3 seasons out of the year... grrrrrrr.. actually make that four. Spring we get seed balls, summer it sheds bark, fall - leaves of course, and then limbs like to come down in the wind in the winter. All the trees have been bad with that since we had a couple of bad icestorms.

What's really gorgeous is driving down south up into the mountains here and you see all different colors for as far as you can see.

We had snow today but it didn't stick up here near Lake Ontario. Although it was sticking the further east you go on the lake. Sort of weird that we stay warmer and they still get the early accumulation. I'm sure there's an accumulation in the higher elevations. That sure makes the ski resorts happy, but we're not too fond of it. We like it better when they're complaining about not getting enough snow since it's too warm. Once the lake gets cold enough, uggh.... "lake effect" are dirty words around these parts. :)
