That's okay. Probably everyone else needed the help. :) There are a lot more of those questions, but I just posted the ones I liked. Still, I knew all the rest.

Without responding to the questions, take my word for it, got every one with the exception of who Dobbie Gillis friend was.

I was high school freshman in 1950 and a college student at Texas A&M after that.

I do recall with fondness how our entire family would gather around the radio after supper and listen to the different programs like The Shadow, The Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger. How great it was to "see" those magical heroes in our minds and I'll just bet if those who also remember them were to compare what they looked like, no two would be the same.

And the small town of 900 people where I delivered newspapers every evening to 148 homes. About a two years ago we rode through the town and I tried to follow my paper route but know I missed a bunch, but heck, that was over fifty years ago.

Everybody knew everyone else and life was different. We had a small lake in town with a life guard who gave swimming lessons. Every morning I filled a wagon with ice, bought two cases of soda and sold the soda at the beach to the people who came. There was a war going on but it was far away from us, until as I walked home each night, I would look into the window of the families I knew had husbands and sons in the military. I looked to see if the star had changed to a gold star. How many remember that???

Were they the good old days?? My first full time job paid $1.00 per hour and when the first raise came in it was big time, $1.25 per hour. Lots of overtime to bring home a paycheck for one week of $100.00! Talk about being proud!! Tried a lot of different things until setteling in but every one of them was special in one way or another.

No sense in going on as we all have stories to tell and reading those each of you have to offer is very interesting. Please contribute. All of you have a wonderful memory and they offer something special during the holiday season. :)

Whizzer, you jogged the old memory bank for me.

I remember with fondness riding my bicycle around the whole block without using my hands on the handlebars. Quite an accomplishment for me because my mother swore I'd never learn to ride a bike. Of course, I also remember turning too fast into the driveway, falling over, and ramming my top teeth through my bottom lip.

Roller skating around the block, dodging the cracks in the sidewalk. Every spring wondering where the skate key was. LOL

Okay, you've done it for me as well, but I'll just say that the movie A Christmas Story tells it all for me. Been there, done that, tongue on an iron bar and all! :) I remember getting all wrapped up when it was cold and snow was on the ground. Being chased down the block by the school bully. Getting cheered by others when I pounded said bully. Crying later when the same bully split my lip. Having my mouth washed out with soap when my mother found the "f" word written in some of my papers. EEEEwwwwww! Always wanting a BB gun but never getting one. (bout the only difference in the movie to my life). I almost shot the eye out of one of my friends with HIS BB gun. (never knew I was that good of a shot til I got my expert ribbon in the Air Force) Oh yes, that movie was my life and I guess that's why I love it so much.

Remembering Jimmy Druante and Manerd G. Cribbs. God I am getting old.
