I'm back from Darlington and just wanted to let y'all know I had an awesome time. I was disappointed with not getting to see qualifying but we made the most of Friday by taking a run up to see Charlotte Motor Speedway. That place is huge....and beautiful.
I'm so glad I took all of your advice and got a scanner because we would have been lost Saturday without it. Darlington raceway is amazing and I couldn't believe it is right on the side of the road. It's a perfect place to see a race because you can see the whole track and your so close to the action. We left after they red flagged the Busch race for the last time on Saturday. I'm glad we did because we would have waited around for another hour for nothing. It wasn't hard to tell Jeff Burton was gonna win either. He was flying through the field.
The start of Sunday's race was awesome. To hear those cars coming to the start finish line for the first time live was amazing. The hair was standing up on the back of my neck! The cars are also a lot prettier in person. There were a lot of Bill Elliott fans in our section and everyone went nuts when he took the lead.
It was an excellent race and an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend this track to anyone.
