Special Homeowners Association Meeting coming up tonite for my townhome association to get a loan to paint and reroof, among other things that they have neglected to take care of over the past 10 years If approved, the loan will cost each homeowner an extra $100 per month for 7 years and if not, no paint, no new roof, no drainage fix, no pothole fix, etc. AND we're not allowed to do it ourselves or hire our own contractors!!!
Our taxes just went up too, so our home has become a moneypit!!
AND we can't afford to sell and buy a new place, nor do we want to rent EVER again!!!!!

I am so PISSED right now, I need a beer and a nap. Maybe later, or in the AM.

Even we approved the loan, cuz it was either that or no repairs or the rest. We have the option to pay up front with no accrued interest, or pay over 7 years at 7 3/4% interest.
Decisions, decisions.... but we have to decide which by 10/22

Throw in the fact that the property will continue to deteriorate if no repairs are made ---- lowering the value.

True, VERY TRUE TRL, and that's why we voted to approve the loan. If the value deteriorates, we still have to pay the same taxes, mortgage, ins., etc.

Unfortunately, this will put off my planned retirement next year

But the property value will now increase

Anothercase of damned if you do, damned if you don't!
