Jeff Burton is one of the veterans that criticized Edwards and reached out to Brad after Atlanta and gave him some advice. It seemed like Brad listened right away, but it's taken some time for the reputation to wear off. Other than running him wide a few times, Kyle raced him clean at WG. Brad didn't take the bait and just raced his ass off.
I give him credit for not getting into Ambrose after he bumped Brad out of the way for the win. He recognized he had left an opening, and Marcos was right to do what he did. There are some veterans out there who would have used that bump as an excuse to turn Marcos as he went by.
Now he has guys like Johnson, Gordon, Burton, Said, Kurt and Marcos complementing his grit and driving skill. It won't be so easy for Carl and Kyle to play their games with him anymore. If Paul Wolfe can keep working his little first year miracle, he clearly has a driver who will compete for the championship this year and many years to come.
