Baja Pacer

Mentioned that I had driven in the Baja 1000 many years ago and drove a highly modified Pacer. A buddy who rode with me sent me this picture and says it one of the cars we raced. The colors are not hte same and niether is the number, but he swears it is one of them and they did look like this.

97, I'm a former Javelin owner! The hubby and I bought our first in 1968(I think). It was a basic 4-speed, with a radio and heater. LOL

Traded that in on a new 1969 with everything but hot and cold running water. Oh, could that baby fly. We know it did 135 because we pegged the speedometer and it was still pulling. Loved that red machine.

It's like wrestling an alligator in a rock tumbler for nearly 24 hours. Ya burn up in the daytime and freeze at night. The first itme we ran I peed blood for a week and was sore for a month. I would NEVER do it again, unless they call me within the next few days in which case I'm on my way!!:D
