I am into a wide variety of music. I've been a skater since I was 14 and still love old punk rock. I like all types of music, though...especially live. Luckily, I lived in Austin when I was in school & still live within two hours of ATX, so I get in lots of shows. Saw one of my favs last week, The Black Keys...they were awesome. If you like bluesy rock, it's a two man band--no bass. Check em out...sweet!

Augest 16th at the kentucky state fair i seen:
ZZ Top (3rd time)
Rondeny Adkins (2nd time)
Brooks and Dunn (1st time)

I haven't seen anyone live in a while, but I have been more into several groups lately.

Mostly...Everclear, Staind, and Red.

Think I saw the Grateful Dead many years ago, memory is kind of fuzzy.;)

One band that I've really dug recently is Opeth, a Danish metal band. Absolutely great musicianship, and one song can have numerous time changes, along with vocals that range from absolutely beautiful singing to some serious death metal (or cookie monster) vocals. Great range.

Last concerts I went to was Heaven and Hell (aka Black Sabbath w/Dio twice this year), Judas Priest and Motorhead.

It's been a while but the last live concert I saw had three groups, of which only two I can remember. First was Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, which most have probably heard of, but the other and the one I really love is a band from Raleigh, NC named the Embers. I would imagine that those of you who live outside the southeastern part of the country might not have heard of this group, but they have been around for many years. Their genre is "beach music", something of a phenonenum here in the southeast.

I'll bet bp has probably seen them numerous times.

Anyone want to shag? That's a style of dancing, not what Mike Myers has made famous.

I hear a "concert" every single day. My son is in a band and is playing constantly. Oh yeah, and I've seen them at clubs, too. :) They're sort of a punk band, I guess you'd say. Not exactly my favorite, but when it's your kid, you just have to suck it up and go watch. ;) That and you get stuck driving equipment when they don't have enough room for it with the vehicles available. At least you get in free then... me, the middle-aged roadie. LOL

Last big name concert I went to was REO Speedwagon when they played at RegencY Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.

I go to see the local bands all the time. My favorite is Sam Grow - who you WILL hear about soon. He's going to make it big, just a matter of time. :)

I don't go to many national concerts because I'd rather spend the money at a racetrack somewhere someplace. :idunno:

$100+ to see anyone is a lot of money. I wouldn't even pay that much if I was going to meet Elvis himself in person. :lol2:
