The Nascar Nextel Banquet needs shortened up to say 2 hours or so! This 3 and a half hour marathon was just too long! The entertainment needs to be changed to! I'm surprised that Nascar didn't bring 3 Doors Down to play this year. They had the Nascar video and all >> I guess nascar wanted to look at some butts instead!

I do like the fact that the Banquet is in NYC at the Waldorf!!
 
Don't forget the fact that the banquet is intended for the competitors, owners and sponsors, not the fans or the TV viewers.

It's their night out in the Big Apple, a reward for all the efforts and energy they have expended throughout the season just over, a chance to reward those who had the best of seasons and something for all the rest to aspire to during the upcoming year.
 
They began the change last year and are now making the banquet more of a TV production than just for the competitors. I think they are just not using the best production crew to get the best out of it yet, but will one day hit it right. I too think the production is too long, but again, there are a lot of things that should be shown and done.
 
Buckaroo has hit the nail on the head for this deal! Nascar needs a better production crew for the banquet!
 
Harry Connick Jr's dancing was hilarious. It was the most un-Nascar thing I've ever seen.
 
I would have much rather seen McMurray's speech than Harry's Dancing (can you call it that?). From the comments from other drivers it was really heartfelt.
 
I got tired of seeing the same videos over, and over, and over.

I know we saw "highlights" of 2003 at least 3 times. I counted Ryan's tumble at Daytona showing up at least 5 times.

I agree. Why show the same story about Kenseth? They couldn't come up with something new?
