Rick Hendrick sold a 2006 Jeff Gordon #24 tonight for $500,000. The money was for charity. Very cool to see that much raised for cancer research.:beerbang:

We have been watching

some of the B-J also. We have come to the conclusion that there is too much show and not enough results. What we'd like to see is all the vehicles that are bid on...... What we get is talk, talk, talk and the camera wandering around the lot! Then we get hour after hour of some kind of audience participation in the bidding. Seems only two vehicles are bid on in each segment between commercials..
The cars are beautiful. For the most part anyway. The bidders? Well let's just say they have enough money that a million here and there doesn't worry them.
Looking at the vehicles that go across the block is a treat. However one isn't going to bring them back to that state in their home garage.
Betsy:rolleyes:

Rick spent a pretty penny on a couple of cars earlier in the week before Jeff's was auctioned off. Wish we would have known it was last night since we weren't watching anything special. We were watching some on Friday and it was interesting to see a couple of cars up there that are the same year as what my brother-in-law has had sitting in his garage for about 30 yrs or so. It would definitely take quite a bit to get it in the same condition, but for what those cars sold for, it would be worth it. Actually, the hosts were saying they were surprised they didn't go for more = like 10-20k more like they would have last year. It sure as heck was A LOT of money to us and it wasn't even one of the "big guns!" I guess there's still people around who have money, eh? It's always amazed me what people will spend on collector things. One time I caught an auction for Saratoga. Wow! I just can't get over what people will pay for a horse that's not proven or that people even have that kind of money for a horse. The worst part is, you know it's just a pittance to them.
