Paul Molitor and Dennis Eckersley were both voted to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Every voter gets to vote for 8 players. Players need to be on at least 75% of the ballots to be elected.

Surprised there isn't more support behind Gossage. He kind of made the relief pitcher a glamorous role. Molitor definately belongs, and Eck is certainly a worthy inductee as well.
 
I can't believe Sandberg didn't get more votes, but going against The Eck and Molitor....tough guys to beat.
 
I remember them all and am surprised that Gossage and Rice didn't get more votes. Congrats to the Great Eck and Paul!
 
I have to agree with EMP. I'm surprised that "Goose" didn't get more votes than he did!
 
Molitor was an automatic for induction on his first ballot. 3000 hits will do that. I always felt that he could have challenged Pete Rose's hit record had he been able to stay off of the DL. He spent more time on the DL than a lot of players spend in the bigs. Paul had the quickest swing (wrists) in baseball, so he could wait on a pitch longer than anyone else.
