It really is ticking me off that I've watched Barry Bonds for a few days trying to see him hit a record tying home run, but they keep walking him. Damn cowards
I suppose it makes good baseball sense to walk him in certain situations, but they walk him virtually every time he comes up. Afraid of making baseball history?
Barry Bonds is sitting on 659 career home runs. The next one he hits will tie his godfather Willie Mays for 3rd on the all-time home run list behind Babe Ruth with 714 and Hank Aaron at 755.
They just intentionally walked him again to load the bases in the 8th inning of a game the Padres were winning 3-0. It bit them in the butt this time as the next batter ripped a single to score 2 and put Barry on 3rd. The next guy hit a single and Barry scored to tie the game. As I type this the Giants just got another 2 run single in the same inning and the cowardly Padres are now down 5-3. Who knows, if they pitched to Barry they might still be leading the game. Instead they just put him on and watch him score the tying run without swinging the bat. Serves them right.
