Baseball might help Nascar

Can the upcoming strike in baseball help Nascar like it did in the early 90's? Think about it. It might bring in a whole lot of money to nascar and help out.

What "upcoming strike"? I don't think there is going to be a strike. So they are getting down to the nitty gritty and a strike date has been set. It's typical that when the pushing comes to shoving dates are set.

August 30th is still almost two weeks away.

You think baseball fans could handle the excitement? I mean, a four to six hour ball game with all the naps you can take while four people play catch.......they'd have to stay awake for up to 4 hrs!!

I sincerely doubt that anyone I know will be making the switch from baseball to racing anytime soon. I mean, even if major league baseball ended altogether, then football, hockey, basketball, boxing, and the Olympics were wiped out en masse, people like my father, an old Brooklyn Dodgers fan turned Mets fan, still wouldn't be caught dead watching the boys go round in circles on Sundays.

It's a shame, too. He has no idea what he's missing. :headshake Must be a Yankee thing.

I'm a baseball fan. Even played a bit of semi-pro back in the day. Not having the majors is just no big deal. I can get my fix at the local high school, or down at the minor league park here in town.

And besides, nfl pre-season has already started. Also heard a rumor that curling is set to replace major league ball on the networks if there is a problem.

but really, the two sides are down to just one area of contention with both sides knowing that worse than not getting their way is what a strike would do to fan support.

I just don't see a strike happenning

Very true,But the sad part is the people that are affected the most are the people that live week to week.ushers,concession workers etc.Greed is hard at work once again.Get ready Nascar is not far off the same path of distruction.
