Battle at Bristol

It's funny they keep talking about a sell out, but the general public has had little info as to when seats were actually for sale.

I agree it's cool. I do wonder if, after staring at the tiny ants down on the field, people will want to come back.

Discussions that should have stayed lost in the site crash. First in a series; try to collect them all, kids!

Skoal and I clearly have different definitions of a good time, especially at those ticket prices.

Was it marketed to the general public? I don't know much about college football and even less about so-called 'neutral site' logistics, but don't those sites usually allocate the tickets to the schools, set a minimum number of seats each must sell, and leave them responsible for the marketing and sales?

UT and VT each got 40,000 and sold them out. That left 70,000 for the track to sell out.

It's one of the most-anticipated games of the year. Seems like they did their job.

Daytona has been vocal about trying to do the same in the future. My guess would be FSU plays a non-conference game there at some point (not against UF).

There's been quite a bit of info along the way from UT about when tickets went on sale, both through the university and the track. I'm sure VT has done the same.

If it weren't for the distance and not really having a dog in the fight, I'd go to the event in a heartbeat. As a Bristol season ticket holder, when this game was announced, they contacted us about buying tickets. I don't remember the prices now but I do remember that they were cheaper than the Cup tickets that I had at the time. It looks like it will be a good time and I hope that it creates more events like this in the future for them.
