SPEED To Air Second Annual Larry Mac All-Star BBQ Event From McReynold's Lakefront Home Sets Fun, Relaxed Tone for NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge Weekend: For the second consecutive year, SPEED will set up camp in the backyard of NASCAR crew chief and television personality Larry McReynolds, delivering Larry Mac's Second Annual All-Star BBQ on May 17 at 7 p.m. ET. The one-hour television will be part of the network's weeklong programming lineup in support of its inaugural coverage of the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge. "The porch didn't fall off … the pool was mostly OK … so, we're glad to have everybody back," said McReynolds, who will be serving BBQ provided by Famous Dave's Legendary Pit Barbecue. "The SPEED family, and our racing fraternity, we see them at the race track, the atmosphere they work in. We see them on shows where we're asking them how their car is doing and this, this and this. This is a show SPEED has come up with where we see our group of characters in an atmosphere where you never get to see them. "I think it's a very neat deal," McReynolds added. "Our sport is about what we do at the race track, what happens on the race track and all those elements. But our sport is also about the characters of all these different people, whether it's the personalities on SPEED or whether it's the drivers that we are talking about each week.
