BAKER CURB RACING TO HELP CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF PETTY'S 200th WIN
NASHVILLE, Tenn., June, 24, 2009 - Baker Curb racing will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Richard Petty's 200th win with a special paint scheme on the No. 27 Scott® Products/Walmart Ford Fusion that will be driven by Jason Keller in the Subway Jalapeno 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway next Friday, July 3. Keller's Grabber Blue and Orange Neon Ford Fusion is reminiscent of the scheme Petty carried on his Mike Curb owned STP Pontiac in the historic Firecracker 400, July 4, 1984.
"I'll never forget Richard Petty's 200th win," said Mike Curb. "Richard won in a car that I owned and having sitting President Ronald Regan in attendance made it extra special. I can't think of a better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than being in victory lane with Jason Keller and our Nationwide team next Friday night!"
Keller will be one of many special guests when Daytona State College honors Mike Curb and the 25th Anniversary of Richard Petty's 200th victory at the Hosseini Center Wednesday night, July 1, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Other special guests include "The King" Richard Petty, Mike Curb, Betty Jane France and Mike Reagan, son of U.S. President Ronald Regan. Tickets for the event are available via phone at (386) 506-3724 or via web at www.DaytonaState.edu/foundation
"Growing up I idolized Richard Petty and I have a ton of respect for what he's accomplished on and off the track throughout his career," said Keller. "I was in Nashville this week and had a chance to see the car I'll be driving at Daytona. It's a very cool looking scheme and it's a huge honor for me to be included in all of the festivities next week."
