LSU/Alabama... :bsflag:

Alabama does not deserve to be in the BCS Championship. I think the SEC is the best conference in football, but this is a blatant bias towards the conference.

Roll Tide

If Alabama wins WHO IS CHAMPION THAT IS THE PROBLEM

frankly, i think bama is better than lsu. hopefully this game will be better than the first one.

Who do you think belongs there, and why?

I think Oklahoma State should be there for several reasons. The biggest ones are that Alabama didn't even win their conference title. They didn't even play for it, while Oklahoma State was hammering the crap out of a top 10 Oklahoma team.

On top of that, Alabama already lost to LSU at home. If they now beat LSU on a neutral field, shouldn't they then have to play a tie-breaker?

.....after getting beat by an unranked, 6-6 team, and blowing a 21-3 lead.

There's no right or wrong answer to the problem the BCS has caused. I just hope they fix it.

Edit: Got the score wrong, it was 24-7 before they cho, uh...lost the lead.

It's all about matchups -- that's why they play the game.

The BCS won't be able to please everyone though. If they had put Oklahoma State in the title game and Alabama in Rose or Sugar where they belong, the SEC crowd would be *****ing to high heaven that the SEC is the only conference in college football and Alabama should be in the BCS Championship.

Let me clarify -- I enjoy SEC football and do believe it's the best conference, but a team that wasn't even in a conference championship game shouldn't be in the BCS National Championship. Rose or Sugar is more appropriate. I can't even imagine what would happen if a team that didn't play in a conference championship was the national champion.

But that's how the BCS is set up, its not who wins the conference championships, its the two best teams, decided by human and computer polls.

I hate it for OSU, I really do. I hate it for the TCU's and other teams that have been undeafeted and never had a chance to play for the BCS Championship. But when Roy Kramer hatched this idea back in '98, ( I think) the only conference that was against it was the ACC....no one took the time to think about it and what would happen if there was more than two undefeated teams.

And as usual, when you try to lump everyone into a large group and say something about them, you're wrong about the entire SEC being upset if OSU was choosen. There's a large portion of Barners (Auburn) that's whining about Bama getting picked. A few LSU fans aren't happy and even Georgia fans. It sounds like our resident Ten-uh-see (kidding Stewy) fan, Stewart Fan isn't real keen on it either. This is the product of a screwed up system and will always be an issued until corrected by some type of playoff.

Bottom line, don't hate the player, hate them game.

Kinda like the chase

People have been *****ing about the BCS since it's inception, but before that, the national championship was always, ALWAYS decided by vote. AT least now, computer rankings have a little in the equation. When you look at the final rankings, voting ones, you can see some wide disparages. In one poll, my OU team with three losses is ahead of Houston, a one loss team. Houston has a better record than 14 teams in the AP poll that are ranked ahead of them and 11 teams in the USA Today poll and 13 in the BCS rankings. I'm not saying they are better than those other teams, but it just goes to show you that people have differing opinions, just as we have here. The question is, why do the voters put Bama ahead of the Cowboys? It's a popularity contest short and simple. Look at the final BCS rankings and see the extreme difference between voters and what the computers ranks some teams. What it tells me is those who vote would rather see a rematch than not. While I'm at it, why does the coaches poll have anything to do with anything during the season? Most of the coaches don't even see games of other teams and rely on suggestions from other people. Some coaches don't even make the actual vote.

But, such is college football and voting will never change. It will always be subjective.

Until they have a playoff, people will be unhappy about the system. Of course, as people are, they will then complain about what teams get into the playoffs in the first place, as again they will use the polls to decide what teams get in. That being said, a playoff is a much better plan.

The fact that it's still left to human judgement -- there will always be a pro-Alabama bias in the BCS. They could go 6-6 and still beat out 11-1 teams for a BCS bowl game berth.

I am sorry, you got Bama confused with Notre Dame. It's the fact that Bama has been one of the best teams in CFB for the last 4 years and they are a great team.

O.K. let me ask a few of you a question. A couple of years ago, the Patriots destroyed the Giants in regular season, then the Giants beat the Pats in the Super Bowl. Shouldn't they have shared the Super Bowl title. End of rematch question.

System not perfect, but it is what it is.
Bama is the best 1 loss team. Better them in the game than OK State, who would not as Gundy said score 39 0r 36 points against LSU, maybe 14 in a defeat.

Apples ≠ Oranges.
NFL Playoffs ≠ BCS

Seeing as you're an Alabama fan, I suspect that plays in to your opinion. Alabama should be in the Sugar Bowl.

They aren't in the Sugar Bowl, they are in the BCS Championship Game.....get over it.

The system is flawed, screwed up, and sucks. But the NCAA and commissioners of the conferences could have done something about this if they wanted to, but they didn't. Even when the plan of "plus one" or "and" one", I forgot what is was called, was brought up, it got shot down. It was basically a plan for an additional game at the end of the season, if needed, with two teams that has a chance to play for the national championship.

If you want to be pissed about a bowl game, be pissed at the Sugar Bowl with VA Tech in it.

Bottom line, Bama and LSU will play for the national championship. If Bama wins, even more whining and complaining will come forth.

I'm pissed about the Mieneke Carcare Bowl:D

After reading that story on yahoo about Nick Saban I like the guy even less. If that's true what a low life scumbag.

I am Bama fan, and it's hard not to say they shouldn't be in the game. I didn't vote for them, a lot of other people who decided we needed a rematch voted for them. I am telling you and you don't want to listen, but OK State, Boise State, Oregon or Stanford would not have chance against LSU or Bama. We will never know.

Who is your team? In the same situation, you going to tell me you wouldn't cheer for your team to get to the Championship? Anyone in America going to tell me they would choose for their team not to make it into the Champ game over a inferior BIG 12 oppenent? I agree, it is kind of funny to have a rematch, but LSU and BAMA are the best 2 teams in the nation. No matter how you felt about a 9-6 OT game, LSU and BAMA or the 2 best teams in the Nation and are playing for the National Championship.

Apples to oranges you say? How? A rematch is a rematch, and the Giants beat the Patriots in a rematch and won the Super Bowl. No matter what you do in the regular season, what matters the most is who is hoisting the trophy at the end of the game.

Yeah, I'm irrational enough to say that good teams don't deserve to be in the BCS bowl games because my 2-10 Terps should be there. :sarcasm:
