Becoming a fan of different drivers.

Has anyone this year found themselves cheering for drivers they hadnt in the past? I know this year I have become a Johnny Sauter fan as well as a Elliot Sadler and Ward Burton fan. I was so happy when Sadler won at Texas. Im also really starting to watch alot more of the busch series races and liking Jason Leffler and Kenny Wallace in that series.

McMurray and Jr are always gonna be up there but I'd like to see Harvick and Gordon Do good as well

Not this year, but it has happened to me before. The guy who has most favorably impressed me so far this year is Kahne, but Gaughan has a very likeable personality.

I am a HUGE Jeff Gordon fan, love Jimmie Johnson, Elliott Sadler and more.
Kenny Schrader, Dale Jarrett, Labonte brothers, Jr, Matt, and I better stop now before I list almost every Cup, Busch AND CTS driver. :D
Never was much of a Rusty fan, but sure did cheer for him when he broke the drought and would love to see Mark Martin win at least one more before retiring.

There are VERY few that I don't much care for. Hell, I used to dislike Robby, but he's changed my mind.

RESPECT ALL, WISH NO HARM!

Always been a Kenny favorite, but also an M&Ms favorite.... so that would put me in the catagory for Sadler...

Also like some of the young guns like McMurry

Not here, I've always gone with Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.

Yeah I like the good and the bad boys, just can't make up my mind :D

I switch often!! :D I have my favorites (Jr, Jeff, Sadler, JJ, Tony, Jimmy and a few others I'm sure I missed) that I start each race rooting for. But as the race progresses inevitably a few of them drop off the "doing well list" so I find another to replace him to watch during the race.......I seldom get disappointed with the results of any race by doing that! :D I have a group of drivers I don't actually root against but I find myself somewhat satisfied if they don't do well........but it's not so much the drivers. It's the team owners!! :)

On a consistent basis, I root for:

Elliott Sadler first and foremost
Any Roush driver, partial to Kenseth and Martin
Anybody in a Ford
Ward Burton
Rusty Wallace
Ryan Newman
Kasey Kahne
Sterling Marlin
Anyone not listed otherwise
Anyone but Junior, Harvick, a Childress driver, a DEI driver, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, or Jeff Gordon.

Think that about covers it.

I have started to follow Mikey the past 2 years, and this year I started to follow Jamie McMurry as well as David Rueterman in the trucks and Jason Leffler in Busch

Is it ok to be a universal fan of all of the series and drivers not liking or disliking any one driver... just the racing?

having really only gotten into racing last year, I started out with Robby Gordon and started to realize the qualities and attributes I valued in choosing a driver to cheer for (this also helps me choose who not to cheer for as well) I liked Jack Sprague in the 0 car, but he didn't last too long...I started watching McMurray because of the car (my dad used to own a Texaco and I always liked Davey Allison) and found that he was just my style. Now, this year, I've been really impressed with Kyle Busch's work on the track and think he's pretty mellow for a 19 year old...something I really think will help him. I'm not a big fan of those who "jump on the bandwagon" so I'm shy to go Buck Wild over already established favorites (24, 8)...so, with Kyle, it seems like my search for a new, young favorite has come to fruition...now, if I could meet the guy and make sure he's "fan friendly" (like Robby is) I could be 100% driving the bandwagon and will happily allow others to jump on...I find if I get too spread out with my favorites, I just get confused, but honestly, I just like to see people do well on the track and when they screw up, take it in stride...sorry for the long post, I guess that was my.25 cents instead of my .02

W.O.P., it is perfectly fine!!!!! In fact, I like so many of the
drivers, it's really hard for me to name those I don't. There are a few,
but I won't bother naming them. I love the racing, and
the passing, and rubbing and bumping. I DO NOT like
wrecking!!!! That scares me. Don't want anyone to be harmed!!!!!
That's about it.

P.S. A friend found me some more new lil dragons!!!!

Sure. Happens all the time. Just not to me. :D

Well that's good. I like 98% of all drivers. There are certain ones that shall name nameless that I don't care for.. They are they dangerous ones... You can be the judge of that... As a photographer, I just like the racing.

First for Rusty and then like he said!!!!!!!

Best and favorite: Matt #17

And I like and respect all of them

I think this thread isn't about who your favorite driver is but if you now cheer for a driver that you didn't previously.

I use to not like Rusty that much, but the rest of my family are HUGE fans. I have now found myself interested in how rusty is doing. I even drafted him for my fantasy team this year. I also like the other 2 Penske drivers (Go Hoyas!). Of course this all started after I lost my favorite driver.
