Paul Menard Racing for Robby Gordon in 2008
Paul Menard is going to drive for Robby Gordon Racing next year and Menard is going to bring full backing with him...

-

If thats legit...
-

And with Jr. contract negotiations stalled, and with an open door from RCR to run the black #3... will it be only Truex left?

-

Could Jr. bring Jr. Motorsports to cup full time with Truex?

Sounds and looks ,judging by your link, that this us just a rumor and a poor one at that.
Could Jr. bring Jr. Motorsports to cup full time with Truex?

That'll be interesting if indeed that happens. It wouldn't surprise me at all though. Menard has been in racing a long time in the open wheeled cars and I believe Robby might have driven for him in the past. Again, I'm not sure about that.

I will be surprised if Jr. moves from DEI though. If that does happen, it'll sure be a bombshell and of course, everyone in the fan zone will say that is the end of DEI, but I wouldn't bet on that. I know more than one fan said that when Earnhardt the senior died, the end for RCR was at hand. As long as DEI can find sponsorship for their cars, the company will survive.

They might have drivers but will it be top notch drivers?

Who really knows. I remember when Jimmie Johnson was in the Busch series. He didn't set the world on fire there and I actually became of fan of his there. One can say the same about Jeff Gordon as well. And who in the world would have said that Kurt Busch would be a Cup Champ? There are those who thought and still think that Jr is going to have multiple titles, but it's yet to be seen if he even wins one. Sterling Marlin a few years ago could have been a champ had it not been for an acident and who'd thunk that? Becoming a top notch driver has so many variables that today, it's impossible to pick the next champ or the next "Jeff Gordon". As long as DEI gets the support of Chevrolet as it has been, and they keep "top notch" people in their organization, there will always be a possiblity that they could have the next champ.

DEI... the name itself will ensure its continuation

......how many sponsors would like to be associated with him

If Lil'E leaves I can see DEI becoming the next Petty Racing. There will be sponsorship money available and drivers willing to get into a car. They may even be able to get a veteran to showcase and a couple of rookies to learn. IMO, DEI would not fold if Lil'E left.
Tho if it did I wonder what that would do to Lil'E. Knowing that his jumping ship killed the company his daddy built...

Make your own team JR!

Junior needs to realize the value of his popularity and start his own team. He would have sponsors falling all over themselves trying to give him money.

Hire a top-line team manager and an honest accountant JR.

"All Glory is Fleeting"....but owning a competitive multi-car team in NASCAR is a money machine.

Jr. isn't going anywhere.

The only stumbling block is the amound of his percentage of the business.
