A small town that's only about 30 minutes away from the big city is the way to go.:)

I would like to live out in the woods somewhere in a nice big log cabin with a lake in the back yard. My dad used to live in one a few years ago and i would take that house in a heart beat too bad its no where around here and not a whole lost of stuff around it i would like there to be a city that is within 30 minutes.

In da sticks...no doubt about it...you can rev your motors as loud as you want and there are no neighbors that can complain....though living in the infeild of Bristol or Daytona would be kinda nice too.....:D

I like small cities, nothing with a population of more than a million or so. So far I've lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Morgantown, WV and Allentown/Bethlehem, PA. I've liked all of those places. I'm an hour away from Philadelphia and I've only been there twice in the past two years.

dude im a city gurl with a country accent i couldnt handle milking the cows

HELL YA......don't forget my fav track MICHIGAN. but i am with you on "In Da Sticks" :p

I'd love to be able to one day live seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but have a major city within an hour's drive so I can get a decent job. My property should allow for loud revving of engines AND shooting of firearms without the police showing up on my doorstep. Yep, that would be ideal. :)

I don't care really where I live as long as there are places to hike and fish and there is a racetrack not more than a hour away.

i dont really care, but i have 2 preferences, i either want to be in a huge city, with public transit etc., or out in the way way middle of nowhere, where i can run my motors as loud as i want, or biuld a workshop etc.., now i live in a suburb and i hate it, all the hassle from the neighbors, none of the conveinence, when i win the lottery, i'm gonna buy a huge lot in the middle of nowhere and build one hell of a garage, like one where you need binoculars to see across it, then buy myself a good quality tent to put next to it...:):)

I would hate to be living in the city with that air. Love it out here in the burbs with the fresh clean air from the lake and creek that runs by. The golf course down the street tops it off.

I live about 2 miles outside of a mid-sized town (Montpelier). It's darn near perfect. It's nice and quiet at home (except whe nthe train goes by), but I'm only a 10-15 minute bike ride away from all of the major stores, eaterys, and the library. I love it.

I live in the burbs. Townhome with WOODS all around, quite, neighbors are wonderful. Almost like living in the real country, but with all the conveniences nearby.

Lived in the city most of my life, Boston, Providence, then Atlanta.
NEVER again:p

I would Love to live in the GA mountains, but I am too used to the local conveniences.

Strides, Montpelier doesn't really qualify as a city, Beautiful state with no real cities, and I spent a lot of time in VT. Besides y'all get SNOW,:bleh:

PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

IMO, city sucks and the burbs suck at least around here. The burbs here have your house 10 feet from the neighbor. and when it comes to what they call single family homes HA HA !!!!!!. my street at times looks like apartment parking. I am just gonna sit on my house until it hits a million and get the hell out of here ( and believe me these places ain't worth much in my eyes) I will let the yuppies buy it up. at that point I want to live as far away as I can from anyone.

I live in a somewhat small town but would rather live in the Burbs (I have lived in the burbs before), in a small town there is not much to do but in the burbs you can still have some of the small town life but you are close to a big city with tons to do.

Hey looney ,great avatar, one of my favorites, I have lived in the burbs long enough and want to get to where there is not much to do but relax and tinker around the house. I guess I'm gettin a little old.

Love living in the country and only have to drive 15-20 minutes to get just about anything I need. Hubby's parents live on 28 acres with NO around. We can do anything we want out there!:) The nearest town to us is Elizabethtown and it's growing like crazy. I grew up around here and wouldn't move unless God appeared and ordered me to! Love My Old KY Home.:)

I've lived in the sticks, small towns(500 people), Medium sized towns, and back to a small town. Prefer the sticks but as Mick Jagger says, " You can't always get what you want".

I live just outside of Houston, and love it. (except on rare occasions, like yesterday--LOL)

The hubby and I own 36 acres of trees in Palestine, Texas, about 3 hours north of Houston. He's building our retirement home up there. I DON'T WANT TO LIVE THERE! :p It's a small town of about 20,000. Not much of anything in the town. If you want to shop, you go to Wal-Mart, or drive to Tyler about an hour away.

The internet service sucks, too. LOL

I am NOT small-town material. I do not like varmints such as deer, skunks, all the bugs that live in the woods, or the snakes! Let's not forget the scorpions!

I thought all the varmints in Texas played for the Cowboys. :ROFLMFAO:

Ward Fan, you said it! ROTFL

be9ak7, don't even get me started on the damage those damned armadillos can do with their digging. :p

And for some reason, the moles seem to think our property is theirs!

I am perfectly hapy right where I am. Close enough to the city but yet far enough away that I am not bothered by it. I would like to be on the mountain instead of the base of it but someday (hint) somebody will get me there.

TRL I understand what you are talking about when it comes to the moles I seem to have a nest of them and they have decided to make home in my mums. My flowers looked so pretty until Tuesday. As far as the other wildlife we have here I respect them and the place is theres as long as they respect my home. It is awesome to see 3 deers playing in your backyard.
