Best thing I've seen in years

Don't sell Noah short. I'll take 6 cars finishing within .05 of the winner over waiting for 'the big one' anyday.

Me too! Pack racing blows. My personal opinion is that pack racing is less racing that 2 car tandem.

Either way anyone who thinks they all will be pack racing come Daytona time is a moron. My guess is a team will figure out how to tandem with this current setup and blow the pack by. Get ready for some boring ass racing.

If they could do the pack racing without the big one, then pod race the last 5 or 10 laps, that would be perfect. The smaller cooling system will take it's toll over 500 miles, and we'll probably see engines blowing while pack racing.

But it sure looks like NASCAR wants the big one to raise ratings. Smaller spoiler AND a larger plate almost guarantees a few pack wrecks.

The interviews that I watched/listened to yesterday seemed to indicate that overheating wasn't a concern in the larger pack, only in the two-car tandem. Even then, it was nothing more than swapping positions.

Raising the rating by giving the majority what they want. What a great idea. Heck, the overwhelming majority seem to hate the two-car tandem racing and have been crying to get it back to where it was. Personally, I don't care. I like what I've been watching.

From what ive heard the drivers saying the winner is still going to be someone who can do the 2 car tandem because they still found it to be faster.

The speed will still be the with tandem racing, it is just harder to do now. That is why I said someone will figure out how to do it without wrecking and those two cars will run away from the field. But hey, the fans got what they wanted right?

I think they have made the cooling system and opening so small, a warm day in January could spell disaster. If engines start blowing, guys will just roll around until the end.

I think their had to be a solution was much less complicated than NASCAR made it.

You just can't please everyone. You seem to like the tandem racing, but that doesn't seem to be the prevailing wish. But before that, people were complaining about the big packs. If you really want to see good old fashioned racing, go to the local tracks. But when it comes to million dollar plus racing, you have to please as many people as possible, not only the fans, but the drivers, owners and especially the sponsors. They can't win no matter what they do. As for me, it doesn't matter. I enjoy watching pack racing, tandem racing and the old slingshot racing. As long as there is competition out there on the track, I enjoy it. A boring race is what they had at the last Talladega race in 2009. No tandem racing there, or pack racing. It was single file almost the entire race.

You are so right buckaroo. It sounds like you are a great fan for racing. Fans like you are what keeps this deal going.

Thanks, yep I suppose that racing is what I like best. Local racing is a must with us, even on those Saturday nights when there is a Cup race. You just can't beat fun at the old race track.

I guess we are the minority.

It was single file almost the whole race because fat mouth Jeff Gordon was Crying about people pushing in the turns. Everybody did the follow the leader parade at the dega 09 race because they didn't want to get docked points.

But all and all Buckaroo, I'm with you. NO matter what changes NASCAR makes, there will still be 43 guys trying to win. Now, boys, have at it!

I personaly liked watching the pack running together at speeds over 200mph, I've been screamin for years that they need to let these guys at least get to 200. I have to agree with what others have said though, the 500, if they stay with the current setup, will be like playing "NASCAR The Game 2011" on PS3. It'll start off with pack racing but then the fast cars will hook up in a draft and leave everyone else behind. Just like back in the day, you'll have someone who's engine & chassis guys really figure it out & that car will be able to pass unassisted & run by itself in the lead. Maybe this year that'll be Stewart, we're comming up on his time he needs to win Daytona soon.

I think that's what people wanted to hear Andy.

But Junior, he isn't going to let the media trap him like that anymore.

They try putting words in a guys mouth who says what he means, and means what he says.

The media guys should ask questions and stop insinuating for the sake of starting a fight on or off the track.

AND BTW, every announcer in the booth, saw Montoya put the brakes on and try to stear clear of Burton. Who BTW, said himself that he was overheating and was trying to make it to the back of the pack.
